we stayed at the avenida palace for five days. we wanted to visit lisbon and sintra. our car was kept the whole time in the hotel garagefor free . the bedroom was not too big but it was classy. there is an outstanding living room/ bar with live music when we arrived. the staff is great. the hotel location is the best. we will surely return.

My friends and I stayed at the hotel to celebrate my birthday. Our stay was wonderful and the staff could not have done more to help make our stay as memorable as possible. A delicious bottle of chilled rose wine was sent to my room, with compliments from the management, The Concierge, in particular, was amazing. He always found time to give us the guidance we needed to ensure that our visit to Lisbon was all that it could have been - from advice on restaurants, making bookings for us and telling us the quickest and best routes from A to B. The hotel is very centrally located for all sight-seeing. It has an air of grandeur about it, particularly in the public rooms. For position and helpful staff, I doubt that you can do better.

Grand style hotel, with mammoth gilt-chaired lobby, conveniently next to the Rossio station (gateway for Sintra trip), walking distance to several theaters. Concierge was completely unhelpful and desk clerk was interested in making jokes, not responding to needs. Rooms are a bit tired but quiet, and breakfast buffet is sumptuous. Hotel needs to provide internet/computer facilities. Nice welcoming fruit plate.
