Great location. Lovely character hotel. Staff extremely helpful and breakfast was great.

In need of a refurbisment, bathrooms a little dated and getting dirty, rooms were ok. Squeaky bed! Kept on waking our baby everytime we got into bed.

There's a flight of stairs (approx 10) before you get to the lift so not baby friendly for any buggies.

This hotel is located on lisbon`s downtown, nice rooms wìth a great view to saint gorge´s castle( castelo de sao jorge), although this hotel lacks on security, from guestrooms might disappear stuff( in my case 2 cameras) and according to the receptionist in the same day dissapeared, from another guest´s room, one laptop.

Couldn't get a better location - easy walking distance for the whole of Lisbon.

Literally around the corner from the train station that takes you straight to Sintra (highly recommended). Close to tubes - but we didn't need them - walked everywhere.

Right on a vibrant square - which does provide a bit of noise, but rooms well insulated and noise was not a problem. Slept soundly.

Good size room, comfy beds, new bathroom - all clean and well presented. Great outlook over the square to the Lisbon horizon, including the castle/fort.

Breakfast simple - but more than sufficient.

Very friendly staff.

Highly recommend.

This was our last stay in Portugal for Chuck Supplee and myself, Danny Fabela. The staff was very professional and attentive. The rooms were of adequate size and very clean. The balcony view was awesome overlooking the square. Great cafes, fresh pastry shops and restaurants right outside hotel. Museum and the like were just walking distance. A decent European style breakfast buffet which was quiet fresh and tasty serving American and European style breakfast items. I highly recommend when you land in Lisbon, enjoy, sightsee and stay in Tomar, Belem and Evora,, then enjoy and finish your stay in this really nice Hotel and unwind. A great way to end your trip in Portugal, it is a small counyrt so will have some time to enjoy the other historic towns if you plan accordingly. I will defenitely be back and bring my wife Malinda for a memorable stay in this beautiful country, Enjoy !! Danny Fabela

We stayed at the Metropole only one night, but loved the location and the room. Our room was on the fifth floor and had two large windows that overlooked Rossio Square and Castelo Sao Jorge above. The location was our primary reason for staying here and we were so happy we did. The hotel is located in the historic Baixa district and there is much to explore nearby. The hotel is very close to the Rossio train station which would allow easy transportation if you wanted to travel outside of walking range. The desk clerks spoke very good English and were very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was very good as well. If we return to Lisbon, we will definately try to stay here again.
