“Really wonderful.”

It's a great option of tour. The place is wonderful. The penguins are a case apart. Sensacional. The moon fish is out of this word.

“Excellent if weather isn't great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

I went here 3 years ago and have never really been that into Aquariums. However, the weather was a bit iffy so we went here. I must say it won me over. It is architecturally interesting how you work your way down and the large tank in the middle is awe inspiring. It was clean and modern and an excellent way to spent half a day.

“A Highlight of Our Stay in Lisbon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

We've been to several oceanariums and several Sea Worlds, but this is unquestionably the best we've ever seen. (Our guide book says it's the second-best in Europe, but the book doesn't say what's number one.) The oceanarium is layed out around a huge, multi-story central tank, with smaller exhibits--otters, jellyfish, penguins and so on--on the side. You start at the top and work your way down a series of ramps. The oceanarium appears to have been part of a World's Fair renewal project in the 1990s. The closest Metro stop, Oriente, was designed by Santiago Calatrava, the well-regarded Spanish architect, and it's worth a look.

“5 oceans together”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

inaugurated during Expo 98, this site brings together the 5 oceans and their biodiversity, in a unique way, with no apparent divisions, the species mix and the visitor makes contact with them ....
