“Amazing place and view must do while in Lisboa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

Best site in Lisboa had a wonderful day exploring this place. From the walk up and down through the winding streets. You can take the tram though we wanted to take it all in and in my view this is the best way. Just do this if nothing else simple as that fantastic.

“Beautiful view, exhausting climb”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

Take a cab! Even the tram lets you out a few hundred exhausting meters from the castle. Also keep your eyes pealed for the ticket office (7 euros). It is hidden away to the right of the street somewhat short of where the entrance is. The view is incredible, but in my opinion, it's not really improved by climbing the walls (I did). The restroom is a bit hard to find but clean and modern.

“Great view to the old city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

The castle has a great view the old part of Lisbon, however, the entrance is 7€!
It's on top of the hill so you have to go all the way up from the downtown area to get the, but once you do, you can relax and enjoy an ancient castle but very weel kept right in the midle of a city!

“Beautiful views and interesting museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

We visited the castle on a rainy day but still enjoyed our time. The views are wonderful, some of the best over Lisbon and the museum is filled with intriguing artifacts. You can walk along many high walls of the old castle also. We took the yellow 28 tram up (a tip for people with metro tickets - you can use these on the yellow tram but not the red one which is more expensive) It is well worth the walk down the hill through the houses and washing hanging out everywhere, such a colourful and fantastic atmosphere.

“Spectacular hilltop view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

Hilltop citadel / castle overlooking the river Tagus and central Lisbon. Armored knights recreate the feeling of being there more viscerally if you have children. Lots of ramparts to climb. Nice coffeehouse and a group of peacocks and peahens inhabit the gardens along with lots of sun basking cats. It's a bit of a hike, but no trouble if you're in shape. Try to beat the crowds and tour buses for the best experience.
