“Stunning museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

Beautiful things displayed in a wonderful space.
Apart from the obvious artwork and the lalique glass, I was blown away by the collection of velvet (I am determined to find some vintage velvet curtains/fabric for my house now!) and ceramic tiles.
Beggars belief to think that this is just the top-end of an individuals collection but I am very grateful that I got to enjoy it.
Unfortunately I missed out on the temporary exhibitions by a few days but the combo entry ticket with the Modern Art Centre next door was still well worth it.

“Lalique; a glass act”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

This is an outstanding museum and art gallery, a fabulous collection sympathetically displayed. Stroll through the gardens first to wind down from the noise and pace of the city. The visit will be worth it for the Lalique collection alone - craftsmanship and style beyond ordinary imagination. It is free on Sundays too.

“A bit of this, a bit of that....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Note that the cute duck working the pond in front takes a lunch break at your table at the snack bar outdoor area! Bring some "quackers"! Dont miss the LALIQUE on the way out. Check out the modern art building next door and the great garden.

“Worth a visit, get the audio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

This museum has a little of everything. Paintings of portraits and landscapes, sculptures, furniture, jewels, pottery, carpets, tiles, hair clips and pins are arranged beautifully in several different rooms that are laid out so you can walk from one to the next.

I did the audio tour and thought it was worthwhile. For 4 Euros you hear a little info about chosen pieces (about 20% or less have audio information).

The cafeteria is not pricey with a good lunch.

The gardens are also worth a walk through.

I did this in 1/2 a day but you could easily make a day out of it.

The surrounding area is a nice part of the city to walk around and shop also!
