“Well worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Well displayed and and wide variety of art to suit all tastes. An electic mix of one man's passion, but he had taste. Lalique display the end is well worth it. Nice cafe and grounds on lower floor. Lack of seating within the art displays means you will be on your feet during the visit.

“Best things come in small packages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

This was the ideal museum for us - the right size so that there was no need to rush but also no need to set aside a whole day for the experience. Top quality exhibits clearly labelled in English as well as Portuguese. A little out of the touristic centre of town but walkable and also easily accessible by metro. The collection of Lalique jewelry is stunning.

A well curated collection of beautful objects and art, just the right size to wander around without feeling overwhelmed. A well laid out in chronological order. All set in a lovely park.

“Small but perfectly formed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

I skipped the older collection of ceramics and headed for the paintings.

They have some works by Monet and particularly Turner that deserved to be seen, but nothing extraordinary. It's in a small space so seems cramped at times.

This might have been because I went on a Sunday, which is free admission day. It's a nice venue but doesn't rival other galleries for choice of work.

“Absolutely Outstanding Collection and Grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Words can hardly describe how exquisite the collection is and how beautifully it is displayed. The grounds are absolutely lovely - and can be viewed from many windows inside - and the cafe has delicious and reasonably priced food. Plan to spend most of the day there and see the entire collection.
