Most amazing food ever. And service and wines. going back in few weeks! Was in Lisbon last summer and had three dinners and lunches here, did not want to go anywhere else anymore.

“Mozambique influences. Freshest seafood. Service outstanding.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2015

TripAdvisor often asks us “Is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant?”, and we reply sparingly only if the experience was exceptionally good. In this case the answer is decidedly “YES!!!!”

This IBO restaurant is located behind the Cais do Sodré metro and railway station (trains to Cascais) and overlooks the waterfront. Not to be confused with its sister restaurant (Ibo Marisqueira) with more casual dining options and which is behind the seafront Ibo and is completely separate with an entrance in the main street Cais do Sodré.

2 of us went here for lunch on a Sunday. We were lucky to get a table as we had not reserved, so recommend reserving a table (they speak excellent English). There is seating on the terrace, also inside and on the first floor – all of which have views to the sea. We were seated upstairs. The tables were set with white linen tablecloths and serviettes.

This was our first experience of Mozambique cooking and it was excellent. For starters one had Salada de Caranguejo e Manga sobre mistura de “verdes” (crab and mango salad on mixed green leaves) €17 and the other chose Camarões Panados ao alho e gengibre (breaded prawns with garlic & ginger) - served with a trio of different sauces €14. For mains we had Caril de Camarão com arroz basmati (prawn curry with basmati rice) €22 and Caril de Caranguejo desfiado (shredded crab curry) €25. For dessert we shared a very indulgent and delicious Mousse de Chocolate €6.

All dishes were beautifully presented and were extremely tasty. The ingredients were the very freshest. The service throughout the meal was highly professional and attentive.

“Overrated, but good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2015

For a quick lunch with two different fish dishes and two beers, they overcharge you! The meals are not that good and the beer is as everywhere else. The sea view is nice, a bit away from the main square and that is probably the best.

“Great location and great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2015

The restaurant is next to the railway station Cais Do Sodré, so it's easily accessible. It's also by the seaside, so one gets a good view over the habour, the coastline, and the Atlantic sea. Some of the dishes on the menu have a Mozambique influence. I had filled squid (with carrot filling) and potato croquettes as main, and pumpkin fries with coconut ice cream as desserts. The food was tasty with flavours beautifully combined. Good service.

“Nice food, white tablecloth, great service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2015 via mobile

We had an agreeable diner on a perfect white tablecloth with nice service. Great presentation for original starters, tasty crab & curry as a main dish, very good general impression. A place where you can be sure to have an nice quiet evening and eat well.
