“tough to get to but very cool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We ended up having to take a taxi to get to the statute but found it very worth it. Not sure if the bridge you cross to get here was before the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran or not but it looks the same (same color too) It allows you to look out on to Lisbon. Really pretty. You can see the Atlantic Ocean and the harbor. Going to the very top gets you even higher vantage point. It cost a eight euros for two people so you can decide if you want to go up. It is free to look inside and some of the paintings. Don't worry about having your cabbie wait for you we were able to grab another cab as he was dropping someone else off.

“I love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Scenic view of Lisbon and the Ocean. There is a small park. I didn"t go to the top. The view was great already just staying in the park.

“Nice place, but Lisbon has much more to offer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

The place is nice. It was a short stop we made when travelling to Lisbon from the south. The views of Lisbon are nice, but the views from the Lisbon Castle are MUCH better. If nearby, do pay the site a visit, but I would not make this a tourist destination itself.

“Great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We passed by as part of a tour on our way to Sesimbra so can't comment on the ease of how to get there but once there, even before you go up the views over Lisbon and the 25th April bridge are great, it costs €4pp to go up, mostly done by elevator with a few stairs to climb afterwards. Definitely worth it even if you aren't religiously inclined.

“A must for a pilgrim like me”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

This place is funtastic, felt like I was in 2 places in one dimension (San Francisco and Brazil). I had goosebumps looking/meditating at those relics (4 major Saints of Divine Mercy and of Most Sacred of Jesus). A repository of Araujo's work. One of kind floatinglike image of Mary at the main chapel downstairs. I love that oldschool platform that activates the door to open up and into the stairway leading to the top from the souvenir shop. View from the top is awesome and unbelievable. Picturesque place/spot. Thank you for the stations of the cross/Christ passion - really a place for meditation and for feeling the love/deep devotions of the people of Portugal.
