“As good as ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

As per my last review in January on wine bar do castelo his is still one of my favourite places to go in Lison.

In terms of food went for the large platter, and it was large, so large that the two of us struggled to finish it.

Wine as good as ever, a must go when visiting Lisbon but be prepared not to get in or have to wait as it is small and getting busier all the time

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

We came out of the castle tired and hungry and ran into this wine bar. We fell in love immediately that we went back the next night. The owner has amazing knowledge on wine and loves to share his knowledge and give people a great experience in tasting wines. Totally worth the visit for a good glass of wine and some snacks.

“The Need to Wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

I had a fantastic time tasting wine, cheese and sausage. The host was very knowledgeable about the wine/cheese/meats that were being served. He took into account where we were from, made casual banter and really helped make this an experience. It started as a casual place to grab a snack before eating a full meal but turned into the full meal.

The host went above and beyond to make sure I got a glass of wine I enjoyed by challenging my choices and asking why I liked a particular wine over another. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, a mixed cheese plate, a sausage plate with bread and meats and it was more than enough to tide us over.

I would recommend this place.

“Need to improve your mood?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

We've been in Wine Bar do Castello 4 days ago in a group of 6 people. Came in moderate mood, tired, not exacly knowing what we want. Nuno, one of the owners needed 10 minutes to influence our mood and definatelly improve it. After trying several wines, we found our best choices, and after all we went out with smilies on our faces, knowing that simple but good food and a glas of very good wine in a resonable price can make your day. Nuno knows, what you really want (I mean wine ;-)), belive me !

“Enjoyable experience with genial host and interesting local wines”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

This is not a place for a full meal, but perhaps a cheese plate or charcuterie. The reason to go is the wine and to learn about the wines. It is not a late night venue. They were getting ready to close by 9:00 pm both evenings that we were there.
