“Surprisingly good- well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013 via mobile

Of all our museum and gallery visits on Lisbon, this was the best so far. The old power station with the equipment restored and in situ ( not working). It is in the Belem area.

Pros:
Bright, clean, well maintained and good labelling and descriptions - even in English
Great for lovers of industrial machinery with a passion for science.
Good 'play' area describing the workings of electricity and a nice set of images reflecting on the socio-economic effects of the power station and its workers..... plus the effects of the war.

Cons:
Hard to get to across the roads and train tracks- look for the white bridge....

Great museum to visit. Free of charge access. You can visit the Electricity Museum as well as seasonal art exhibitions.

“If you're interested in technology (and electricity), visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

We visited the museum at the end of our day in Belem and were very pleasently surprised. The musem was free, well maintained, and (if you're tech geek like us :)) very interesting... never been to actual power plant before.

“A disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Nothing really interesting to see, just the building is nice. Better to walk outside than step in.
They try to make some exibitions, but if there's none, this museum is very boring.

“Be careful because there are 2 museums located in two different places far away from each other”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

The reservoir of "Mãe dágua" near Amoreiras in Lisbon is a great experience to know about the main place where centuries ago the water was transported and distributed. Is a deep very big tank and it worth to visit it. Most of the taxis doesn't know the place and will go around it. Say that is in Amoreira. Sometimes there are concerts there . It would be great if you get one of those opportunities. I can call that a monument.
The other museum far away it is only for those who like the history of electricity.
