“Just basic food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014 via mobile

Prior reviews spoke if the mans attitude, we saw none of it. However the food was just basic cooking. Nothing too fancy, a little salty, but nothing to write home about. Would not bother returning.

“Terrible!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2014

The service was terrible; the gentleman that served us was very unpleasant, forgot part of our order, did not want to serve us drinks (that were part of our menu)... The food was ok, nothing special.

I will not return.

“Yet another tale of 2 meals…..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

We ate here twice during our recent trip. It was hard to think we were eating in the same restaurant the contrast was so stark between the 2 meals

Night 1.

Found this restaurant by accident (after looking for it earlier) - we were having a drink in the fabulous Cuban bar across the street.

Its a very tight space. The owner is quite gruff and has very poor English. Even when you point things to him on the menu - he can get quite flustered. His wife does the cooking in the background. They are the only 2 staff working here.

Night One.
We were given a basket of brilliant homemade bread, fresh tuna pate and cheese. I had the salmon and hubby had Dorado - served with steamed potatoes (even the humble spud tasted sublime). Both were so fresh, were cooked to perfection and tasted heavenly. We had a carafe of vino verdhe - really nice and so cheap. We ordered dessert - but were given different ones - no big deal. The bill was €28. We couldn't wait to return. Our perfectly simple meal was our topic of conversation for days to follow - all other meals were compared to it.

Night Two.
The owner was in a foul mood. He had a fight with a group of locals and another couple walked out. Everything on the menu (except salmon) was not available. This was 8pm. We asked if we could have a side order of fries with our meal. He got totally confused at this and asked if we wanted them as a starter. We explained we just wanted them as an extra. We waited 45 minutes - no bread or olives appeared. The along came 2 tiny pieces of fish (which were very tasty) and a bowl of fries (no sauce, no potatoes). I was so disappointed. We ate the food and left. It didn't take long. We were starving. We shouldn't have returned.

Its hit and miss. The owner is incredibly rude and makes no effort to try to understand you or help out.

“Great food, poor service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

I travelled with my friend and we decided to have dinner in this restaurant. Everyone should try fresh fish on the grill, it is really tasty and cheap, wine is also good. One thing is bad - service. I have never seen such inpolite person; we came in restaurant and no-one was in, we sat at the table and the guy didn't say hello/good evening - nothing, a smile - nothing he just gave as a menu. Then comes a highlight - he came nervous to our table and moved my glass to the place he tought it is better for it to stand (meanwhile, I was in the middle of eat). It is such a shame; great food, reasonable prices but we were rejected by his behaviour.
