“Good price, good location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2010

Very good hotel, with standart international hotel rooms. It is like a Holiday Inn, but with better and bigger rooms. Despite beeing a couple, we were given two (very big) beds that we joined together. No problem because we only stayed two nights.

The bathroom is big so the shower could have more space, but nothing that bottered us. Our room faced the backyard, so no noise. Also no smell of smoke or mold - very clean, new rooms without carpets! I am very alergic, so I always choose new hotels with wooden floor and this one was perfect!

Also, very nice staff, cable TV, air conditioning, hair dryer and basic but good breakfast (eggs, fresh orange juice, ham, cheese, etc). Nice location, near Marques de Pombal subway, the airport bus has a stop nearby and also the siteseeing bus (the red ones) starts here!

Just returned from a few days at the HF Fenix Garden and I concur with most of what has been written recently about this hotel. Situated right next to the Marques de Pombal Metro station, near a multitude of bus routes including the Aerobus which stops nearby, as do the many city sightseeing tours. The rooms were clean, staff efficient and welcoming, the hotel quiet and the air conditioning very effective. The breakfast was plentiful but if I had one criticism it would be that the ‘hot’ buffet breakfast was never very hot but don’t let this put you off staying at this wonderful hotel.

We stayed at the hotel from Sunday to Thursday. It is in a great location just across from the park, bus stop and metro stop outside the hotel, only a 10 minute walk downhill to a huge selection of restaurants/bars. The room was spotless, we were on the 8th Floor looking out over the garden. Breakfast was great, hot and cold options, you only needed a snack for lunch.
Lisbon has so much to see and offer, only able to scratch the surface.
Special mention to Diego on Reception who was so helpful and knowledgeable. My wife twisted her ankle on the first day and without Diego, our holiday could have been spoilt. He recommended a great pharmacy and was on hand with suggestions in getting around.
Get the travel pass, only 3 euros 60 for 24 hrs, even takes you out to the airport.
Can't wait to go back.

My room in the top floor has a big terrace with wonderful city views but the room is basic as the entire hotel. The breakfast is simple and there is only one machine coffee for many persons. The location is good, near metro, near restaurants and near sigthseen stop.

Stayed at Fenix Garden from 13th-17th April , good hotel, good location etc, etc. Then got caught up in volcanic ash fiasco and were dumped by our airline BMIBaby, with no accomodation, no help , just cancelled till week later! HF Fenix Garden to the rescue!! We rang the hotel and although fully booked, they arranged for us to stay in their sister hotel HF Fenix Urban, at the same price until we found alternate flights home ( at our own cost). Thank you very much , you helped us much more than anyone else and although we know it meant you had some rooms booked when there had been lots of cancellations, your customer service is excellent! ( take note BMI Baby)

On arrival at the hotel,we were greated by the receptionist. He was very polite, and friendly. He checked us in,and within five minutes,we were in our room. The room itself was very clean, twin beds were comfy, nice clean bathroom with clean towels every day of our three day visit. The breakfast room was spacious with plenty of tables to sit at.The food itself was good and varied, with hot and cold food at hand. The hotel overall,is very modern, and well worth the low price we payed, good value. This hotel is right next door to the Hotel Fenix.
The location of the hotel is perfect for the city.Transport on the door step, bus, taxi, metro, its there.Even the aero bus we caught from the airport, dropped us off less then five minutes walk from the hotel, and it only cost 3.50euro.If you like walking as we do,turn right outside the hotel and follow the footpath, your right in the city, with all the attractions Lisbon has to offer.Lots of sights to be seen.Be warned though,Lisbon is very hilley, but if you like to walk, you will enjoy.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
An urban haven where the commotion does not enter. To enjoy the city does not mean you need to do without some peace and privacy. The HF Fénix Garden provides the desirable paradox of staying in the heart of Lisbon and feeling protected from all stress. The referential acoustic insulation allows you to observe the city bustle from the window as if it is not real. A strange feeling of seclusion kept in the wide aisles and common areas where, even if the hotel is full, you can feel peace. The decoration and comfort of the HF Fénix Garden make you forget the city and even that you are in a three star hotel. Something that you will only remember on check-out. Very closed to the hotel is Marquês de Pombal, several of Lisbon's main points of interest and all the transportation networks in the city. The HF Fénix Garden offers several free services, such as Internet access in the entire hotel. But the most surprising offer is the feeling of staying in an oasis in the middle of the city. ... more   less
