Very good hotel and very appropriate for a good memorable pilgrimage. A hotel that is for religious tourism must offer all that is necessary for a pilgrimage - adjustable time schedules, information, good food, courteous service and silence. We found all this and more in this hotel.

I think this has to be one off the best hotels we have stayed in. It is two hundred yards away from the sanctuary and easy walking distance from all points in Fatima. The hotel has just been refurbished to a very high standard. The staff are all very helpful and the restaurant is wonderful. There are lounges and intimate sitting areas doted around the hotel with more formal meeting rooms and a lovely Chapel.

Room Tip: all of the rooms are good

I stay at the Hotel regularly as I visit Fatima often and this was a great find. Fully refurbished in 2011 the rooms are really good and spotlessley clean. The rooms have tv, air conditioning, rooms with showers or baths if you prefer are available and also rooms for the disabled traveller. Nice friendly Reception staff, who are efficient and courteous. Great breakfast, buffet style with a good choice. Hotel has a bar which serves alcohol, soft drinks, teas and coffee at reasonable prices

I was looking for an accommodation with a more spiritual atmosphere than a hotel. This was perfect. Mostly pilgrim groups and religious were there when I was. It is a light and bright building which has its own chapel and daily mass in Portuguese. It also has a well-stocked shop with convenient hours and reasonable prices. The food was good and "board" prices reasonable for meals. Dinner included soup, bread, meat, a side dish, salad and bottles of wine and water. Breakfast buffet included bread, cheese, meat, fruit, yogurt, juices, teas and coffees. I did not opt for lunch there. Internet was wired and fast in the room; it was priced @ 5 Eu./stay (not per day) which made it a good value for a longer stay. In room TV had English channels but not EWTN which would have been nice in order to foster a more spiritual stay. The bathroom was large and had recently been updated. The bathroom did conatin a hairdryer, soaps and nice towels..

Casa Sao Nuno is located behind the Basilica and beyond the parking lots of the Sanctuary. If on foot, walk out the back, left side of the Sanctuary. There is a back driveway on R. de Sao Vincente de Paulo which leads to the front of Casa Sao Nuno via a steep driveway on its east side. Or just got straight out the back of the Basilica and take the street R. dos Monfortinos to Av. Beato Nuno and turn left.

I also stayed at Domus Pacis but much preferred Casa Sao Nuno. Domus was closer to the Sancutary by about 2-3 minutes on foot but it had a climb of about 15 steps into the lobby. Casa had a brighter atmosphere, more energy and life, lower rates and food prices, an open shop, the chapel & daily mass (Portuguese), in room internet and a street level entrance although uphill from the Sanctuary. Both had very helpful, polite, English speaking front desk staff and courteous, helpful dining room staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the backside to have a view of the Basilica.
