“Cascais”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

A lovely holiday resort but not over commercialised, beautiful beaches to walk up and down, they are lovely. Pleanty of places to eat and drink but make sure you know how far away your holtel is away from the centre as transport can be a problem if your not using a taxi

“very nice little village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

very nice little village, only 40 minutes by train from Cais de Sode station, 5 minutes walk from Place de commerciao.
it only cost 4 euros per head return. worth a visit if in Lisboa. Nice restaurants, Marina,etc...

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We were told to visit Cascais by friends but when we arrived we found a typical seaside town with a lot of tourist shops and restaurants. Even an English pub. Not the quaint Portuguese fishing village we'd hoped for.
If you want to sit out and people watch as you sip your expensive cocktail before a shop at the Versace store, maybe this is for you.

We did not stay long as we were looking for local restaurants and local shops.

“Absolutely Stunning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We visited Cascais through our tour with Inside LIsbon (see my separate review - abosolutely recommend them!). While we were there we enjoyed some yummy gelato and walked the cobblestone streets. It is quite the fancy area where a lot of elite people vacation. We spent our time walking the beach and just enjoying the peacefulness of the area.
