We spent a week here as a family holiday (two parents and three teenage children) in the "Sol" suite. The location is a bit out of the way in an upscale neighborhood adjacent to the Sintra National Park, so having a (preferably small) car is highly recommended. With a car, though, many attractions are within easy reach. We went to Guincho Beach (10 minutes' drive) mornings, chilled out at the quinta for a while and then went sightseeing in the afternoons/evenings. Sintra and its castles are very close, 15-30 minutes depending on which way around you drive. Lisbon is about 30 minutes by fast motorway. Cascais is about 10 minutes. Very personalised service, helpful proprietors. The lady of the house served us breakfast every day, a recurring highlight of the trip. The view from the restaurant is fantastic!
