The Hotel Albatroz at Cascais is an excellent place to stay. We enjoyed both a room in the old part oozing with character and in the new part with private bacony overlooking the pool and sea. The restaurant is very nice; great food but with a casual atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. A good place to base yourself outside of Lisbon and especailly for the Estoril Moto GP!!
Outside of the hotel is a maze of cobbled streets with many shops and restaurants, a large marina and some superb architecture.

My husband and I only spent one night at this lovely hotel. I wish we could have stayed longer. We chose the Albatros Hotel as it had such good reviews and we were not disappointed. It is in a fab location right by the beaches of Cascais with all the shops and restaurants right on its door step.
We had a lovely room with amazing sea views even though we had only booked a city view room. The hotel has two salt water pools that are right on the cliff edge overlooking the beaches and sea. It was great to sit on the sun lounger drinking wine whilst watching all the boats come and go, and looking down at the crowds on the beach. Perfect.

“Great Hotel - Property a Bit Dated”

The hotel is great. I booked a seaview suite. The room was pricey, but we went during high season. They have great staff. Everyone tries their best to be very helpful. The food is fantastic. You feel incredibly at home. I think I had the best room that they had, but it wasn't a Four Seasons room. The queen bed was actually two full beds pushed together so it was a bit lumpy and not too comfortable. Their bathrooms are amazing. Large and spacious. Very beautiful. The tvs are old, but if you don't care about that it doesn't matter. There are some newer properties in Cascais that I would recommend trying, Farol Design Hotel. I didn't stay there. We just had dinner. But it looked great. I would say that this hotel is targeted towards the old money crowd. If you're young and you have money then try a hipper place. Sort of like a choice between staying at the Delano and the Setai or The Ritz Carlton. Older moneyed folk may prefer the Ritz. I would prefer the accomodations and atmosphere of the Delano or Setai.

Oh, and it's a 4 star property. Not a five star that Americans are accomsted to. Great, but not excellent

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in May/ (actually writing this on our last night here).

Our room was upgraded to one in Albatroz Palace (405) with sea views. The room/suite was full of character and essence of luxury. We have stayed in five star hotels with more 'glitz and pazazz' in the past but the Albertroz is an understated, historic and stylish property - much more relaxing. The staff are courteous, personable and genuine; a real asset.

Cascais is perfect for a short break and a change from the busier capital. The Hotel Albatroz is an ideal base even if you wish a longer break.

This is a first class hotel in all respects. The staff throughout are pleasant, helpful and efficient (the Hall Porter is outstanding). The location cannot be bettered - in the centre of Cascais right on the beach - a little difficult to locate when first arriving if self-driving (tip - follow the railway station signs). Rooms first class in all respects - worth the little extra for a seaview. Breakfast and Dinner both good as are drinks on the terrace overlooking the sea.
Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
