“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

We stayed for 5 nights in May and were pleased to have booked a modern, well decorated, spacious, clean room in this delightful hotel. Our room looked up towards the University and the night time views were especially superb. The hotel is well located for visiting the sites of this beautiful city, and for sampling the local pastelarias and restaurants.
The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. Our Portuguese is lacking but communications was always possible; and with much smiling! Breakfast was good and we ate in the hotel restaurant on one of our evenings and had a lovely meal.
We booked parking which was a short walk away in an underground car park but worked very well.
The only downside was a slight odour from the shower, but this was being dealt with and did not spoil our stay.
Value for money was excellent.

My adult daughter and I (a youngish senior) stayed there for the one night we were in Coimbra and what a good choice that was. Stylishy renovated and refurbished with style in the centre of the old historic district, owners are on site and very helpful, including waking up super early to make sure we got our breakfast. Best value on our 2 week stay in Portugal.

Everything was perfect! Price-Quality ratio is off the charts. The standard of the room is simply amazing for the price you pay. The hotel is very well located, modern and very clean. The breakfast was also very nice and the staff very friendly. The perfect place if you are visiting Coimbra for whatever reason.

"Is that the one with all the wood?" commented partner after our visit to Portugal. Lovely light wood floors and a room on an upper floor with views up to the old town. Delightful, except for the continual rain! Well equipped bathroom although the shower did need to be mastered otherwise spayed outside the cubicle.
Very helpful staff who sorted out our queries re paying electronic road tolls and tried to describe the honey tasting style jam at breakfast before we tried it - delicious actually. The downstairs restaurant looked popular with locals in the evening; we found lots of local restaurants in the area around the hotel which is close to river and railway station.
Once located, this was a lovely hotel with a warm and friendly feeling.

Room Tip: The room we had with a view up to the old town was delightful. Just open the windows and look out to...

Rooms are small but include a desk; they are sleek and immaculate. We paid $125 E for three nights, a price that included an ample breakfast and free Wi-Fi. Quite a bargain! Location is great, with easy access to the train station and all attractions. The friendly owners and staff make you feel right at home in this beautiful city.

On advice of Tripadvisor reviews I stayed here with my daughter for a week in mid February 2012 , (40 Euros per room per night). I arrived at the train station in the town, a short shuttle train ride from the main station on the outskirts of Coimbra. As you exit the station walk down the front steps, cross the road and turn left, turn the corner and the hotel can be found a few yards further up in pedestrian area on the right, which is very convenient. It is a family hotel run by the lovely hardworking Rosa and her husband and their great friendly staff. The building itself has been recently renovated, had a lift, and my third floor room had a very modern and clean feel. The sheets were changed and room cleaned every day. Breakfast included in the price was provided in the restaurant and consisted of a buffet of nice bread rolls, some toasted, which can be combined with cheese slices, selections of different hams or conserves. Fresh fruit was available along with tea, coffee or orange juice. A really great place to stay for the money. Good restaurants and pastiseries nearby.

Room Tip: Hotel is located in a busy part of town. I stayed in a room on the third floor (accessed by a lift...

This hotel was a good surprise in my trip. We didn't expect such a confortabel room for the price we paid. The ownwers are nice and helpfull, the room has everything we need (including free wifi) and has been recently renewed. Finally, the location is really good, in the historical center, walking distance to the University of Coimbra. We would definetly stay there again.

Room Tip: The street is not easy to find/ if you go by car. Ask for information before because the GPS is not...
