“Réveillon de '13/'14”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Had the opportunity to stay again in this 4* Hotel.
Still one of the best hotels to stay in Terceira Island. Very cosy and clean this hotel offers a magnificent view over Monte Brasil and Silveira Bay, where you can dive, swim or just even take sunbathe during Summer time.
The Réveillon party was great and the food also amazing... Nothing that I wasn't counting on, because the Restaurant wins lots of prizes during food festivals all over the years.
Here it is a great bet to stay in Angra.
The less or the most negative thing I can say is that the chief of staff from the Restaurant, never has a smile to show you, but he is professional though.

Room Tip: Try to ask odd room nunbers to pick the ocean and bay view instead of even numbers that is garden vi...

The hotel has an amazing view, good location near the city center. Our room awas nice with big balcony. They rpovide towels to swim in the sea. Nice staff. Breakfast was not ok for a 4 star hotel. The restaurant is very cozy but the food could be better.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Stayed here in June for a week, in a sea view, 2 floor duplex apartment (no. 407), with four single beds, on the hotel's top floor (top part is built onto the roof, but not at all cramped).

The town is quiet and has not been touched by tourism very much, but as the island's main town has enough shops and cafes to give you variety for a week and let you buy all the essentials.

The hotel is 15 mins brisk paced walk from the main town square, but there are some cafe's and restaurants en route. We planned around this and one good thing was that we were only a short walk from the town's cinema, in a small modern arts centre.

The staff were always helpful, including the breakfast waiter, who remembered every day that I prefered soya milk.
The apartment was clean and spacious, with a living room and shower room downstairs. The bathroom and both bedrooms were on the first floor.
Good sea view, across the bay to the Monte Brasil headland and fort.
It has 3 aircon controllers, which worked well.

The beds were comfortable.
The room safe is free.
The room fridge has some space for cold drink bottles and snacks.

There are tvs upstairs and downstairs in the apartment. The local cable package is the best I've found in a med country (several eng. language news channels, a couple of main USA entmt channels in english and portugese channels had plenty of current U.S./U.K. drama/comedy series, subtitled, but with original dialogue intact).

The showers were hot and water pressure was good at all times of the day, but one had a loose drain cover. Also one toilet seat was chipped.
Good draw and wardrobe space for four people, but only enough hangers for two people.

One of the bedrooms is really a landing, albeit a large one, with desk, drawers and wardrobe. It has no privacy. It's open to the living room below and the main bathroom and second bedroom can only be accessed by walking through it. This was ok for a holiday with close relatives, but probably not for two couples.

The outside swimming pool is freshwater and bigger than it appears on the photos. It was quite warm mid afternoon, even on days with 20 as the highest temp.

The indoor pool was in use, but we didn't try it. It isn't big enough for proper lengths swimming. The walls were a patchy brown, as if they had just been prepared for decoration.

The sea view from the balcony was great, but there was no table and one of the chairs was broken. Also, there are pigeons living just above the balcony, on the hotel roof, which put me off using the balcony frequently.

The hotel only has one internet terminal, in reception, which was broken all week.

The buffet breakfast had a decent variety of hot and cold food. It was in a nice ground floor room, but every day all the blinds were half down, so the middle of the room was gloomy. It wasn't really hot or sunny early a.m. so we didn't understand this.

Very nice located hotel with views over the sea and Monte Brasil. Close to Angra, just a 15minute walk.
Near the hotel is a 'beach' were you can swim in the sea. It only doesn't have sand, but you are sitting on the concrete.
Rooms are nice, good sized. We booked with seaview and had indeed a great view. We missed complimentary water in the room. This should have been standard at 4star hotel. Nice, helpful staff.
Good breakfast, with lot of choice.
Free wifi. And a parking garage under the hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room with seaview and at the second floor or higher

Stayed for 3 nights on Azores tour in July 2013
Allocated a very good room on the 1st floor with excellent sea view at the pool end of the building. Free wi - fi throughout which worked a treat in the room and on the balcony.

The Hotel itself is fairly uninspiring by design and has been wedged in to a fairly small plot of land.

The room was clean , the bed comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast very acceptable and bar food OK with average prices as we expereinced throughout the Azores trip.
Good 20 minute brisk walk in to Angra which works up an appetite for dinner if you are eating out ( €5 euro taxi ride back ) . Angra itslef is a lovely town with many traditional buiuldings and a nice harbour area but not that many restaurants to choose from.

Room Tip: Ensure you request a room with a sea view ( higher numbers the better as these will be closer to the...

The rooms on the -1 floor with numbers in the even 100 series have a 3-meter high wall topped with a 1.5 meter mesh fence at just three metres from the sliding doors of your room. The view is a patch of hopefully blue sky. The boon is you tet a hammock, which the other rooms don't get.

Situated on the seafront with its own little access to the beach. Swimmingpool area very nice.
Rooms are functional, even quiet. All rooms with balcony.
Bathrooms are sparcely equipped. Not even a showercap - but there's a hairdryer.

Breakfast very nice.

Staff at reception nice and helpful.

Difficult to find the hotel without navy-system.
