“Good for tourists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Went here with my husband and daughters and really enjoyed the ambiance and food. Well presented, but we found it a bit expensive.
Lots of tourists, which is perhaps wht yje run a movie during dinner showing the Azores.

“Quaint, and Authentic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We had met Paulo outside the restaurant earlier in the day and decided to come back that evening. The service was the best! Our fish was fresh and simply delicious. What I like about the fish dishes in these parts is that they do not smother the dishes in pungent sauces but instead grill and lightly season so you can taste the sea. Paulo, our waiter was very personable and friendly, yet professional. Thank you Paulo for a great experience.

“I'll Pass on the DVD if you give me 20% off”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Tourist Trap. We had to wait quite awhile. They forcefully try to up sell you on wine and appetizers and honestly the food was not that good especially considering the price.
There were a few locals there but predominantly tourists like us. Thanks for the DVD with pictures of the Azores, but I took enough of my own. Oh and about a quarter of the resturant was ordering some fajita like meal that came on a smoking pan which filled the whole place up with smokey steam.
Would not go back or recommend if in Ponta Delgada, there are plenty of other better places.

“yummy but too commercial.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012 via mobile

Like many people on tripadvisor I decided to try Sao Pedro, and although the food was pretty good the restaurant just felt like it was cliche and trying too hard. They do have any kind of food you can imagine, from meat to fish. What they are lacking is the atmosphere you imagine this island should posses (and we did find it). The waiters have too much on their plate and ignore you half the time, although once you finally get their attention it is definitely worth it. This place has a great food (slightly french inspired with lots of sauses and bold lfavors) but if you are searching for an Azorean spirit it misses the mark.

“Best Octopus!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

This was the only restaurant on our three week trip that we had to wait to be seated. It was worth it. There are many choices on the menu and everyone seemed very happy in the restaurant with their choices. We had grilled octopus (great taste and presentaion) and a grilled fish. The octopus was served over punched potatoes with a picante sauce. Excellent.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We did find ourselves glancing over at the running slide show and having fond memories of our trip. One of the better restaurants in PD.
