The best way to describe Duas Quintas would be - A Hidden Gem. Tucked away in the rolling, fragrant hills of Silves is this amazing B&B. The accomodations are simple and perfect - equipped with anything one would need - towels, hairdryers, coffee (and hot chocolate for my husband), comfortable beds, tables outside the rooms to view the beautiful farms and views of the country, etc. The grounds are completely open to guests and we were actually able to pick delicious pomegranites, lemons, limes and even oranges. The swimming pool is absolutely freezing but refreshing none-the-less and the owners have provided a ping-pong table for guests, as well as BBQ facilities, a refridgerator stocked with very affordable beverages, and much, much more.
The hospitality was exceptional as well, from the beautiful breakfast in the morning to amazing beach recommendations and assistance with finding our way back to Lisbon, etc.
I would recommend these accomodations to anyone..young or old, with or without families, single or with a group. We are hoping to return many times throughout this year on our trips to the Algarve. Thanks again to the owners for such a lovely stay!

This place was fabulous. The owners Les and Mary were very helpful, even allowing us to do our washing for which we were very grateful. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. Having a pool was a bonus as well. The breakfast was the best we'd had in Portugal and overall we would place Duas Quintas high on our list for a comfortable, relaxing stay in Portugal.

Just came back from the Algarve where we spent a few nights at Duas Quintas. Superb hospitality with a very warm welcome, great pool area, lovely room and superb breakfast. Within striking distance of Silves and some wonderful beaches, we had a great time. Highly recommended!

Les and Mary at Duas Quintas are the perfect hosts. They provide all the information you need before arriving and when there are full of ideas of where to go and eat. Ideal for those who lack confidence in overseas travel or just want to relax and let others come up with ideas. They are always ready to help - particularly if problems or emergencies arise.

The property is newly refurbished so all the rooms are in excellent condition and tastefully arranged with lots of small touches. Breakfasts are excellent - large and varied and will keep you going for the day.

The location is quiet outside Silves - a great town to visit. It's a peaceful spot for those who don't want to go far to relax round the pool. Beaches are within easy reach. Our son enjoyed wandering aroung the grounds picking oranges and lemons in this safe environment.

The weather wasn't as hot as we had expected but the welcome couldn't have been warmer. A great stay - we'll be back and would recommend Duas Quintas to all without hesitation

this place is ideal if you want to stay somewhere peaceful to use as a base for visiting the algarve. it's out in the country, amidst its own orange groves, yet only short drives from all the attractions in the area. and if you feel the urge for a swim a few paces from your room, there's a great pool.
les and mary cave, the owners, were most helpful from my first email contact with them e.g. about different driving routes from lisbon, and about an amazing out-of-the-way restaurant where you could get a delicious and sizeable meal, including wine and "couvert" (bread, butter, olives, etc.), for only eight euros. breakfast at duas quintas won't leave you hungry either.
les's suggestions for sightseeing drives were spot on - whether you want to visit mountain villages or the different seashore locations.
i visited in spring, when the weather was moderate. there is an extra charge if you want air conditioning.
