We stayed here for the 1st time on what was our 5th trip to Sagres. The hotel is situated in a small road off the square at the top of the high street , and can be quite tricky to find. Also parking can be an issue if the resort is busy , which it was when we were there. We had booked a double sea view room and although the view was indeed very nice we were a bit disappointed with the size of the room which was a bit on the small side and slightly claustrophobic , the bathroom was not designed with two people in mind. There was a lack of storage space and we had to ask the reception for some extra hangers in order to get all our clothes in. The place was kept immaculately clean by houskeeping , but could we please have a bin the the main room instead of the tiny one in the bathroom.
Breakfast was simple but plentiful , however it did get a bit monotonous towards the end of the week .
Be warned we were bitten to bits by mozzies as we like to sleep with the balcony doors open so as to listen to the waves at night , a citronella candle from the local intermarche helped , this seems to be a recurring problem in Sagres as the same thing happenened to us on a previous trip.
Mareta Beach is a short walk down the hill and was as beautiful and uncrowded as normal , Tonel beach is also within easy walking distance.
Overall a nice hotel but rooms are a bit small and the whole place lacks atmoshere.
