Restaurant O Telheiro do Infante could be one of the most exciting restaurants on the Iberian peninsula. A impeccable white beach, fresh but cristalline seawater and all together surrounded by impressive cliffs and rocks. But o Telheiro do Infante missed this unique opportunity, a gift of nature, painfully. It is not only the quality that fails but the total concepcion of what a good restaurant should be. The prices are extremely high for the region: 20 euro for a simple small sole of 200 gram, 15 euros for a mini- octopus or 11,50 euro for a simple spaghetti a la bolognese ( with a minimal quantity of meat...) create the first signs of irritation. But that irritation grows with the minute. So should all the extras such as salade, fried potatoes or rice be paid apart, prices from 1,50 till 2,95.....But the worst of all is the service, incredible waiting time due to a total desorganisation. After more than ONE HOUR waiting came at first the two plates of spaghetti, TWENTY minutes later the octopus and FIFTEEN minutes after the octopus the sword fish and the sole....The irritation reached a new climax noticing that the octopus was not only as thin as a childrens finger but served without a boiled potatoe, a tomato and onions as the Portuguese recepee prescribes. The sword fish had a strange sour vinegartaste as if the fish had been too long out of the fridge. And finally the bill was the final reason that made decide us: once but never again. This commentary surely will provoque a bitter reaction or excuse from the manager. My suggestion: forget the reaction on the commentaries and dedicate all the time to organisation and service. And if there are too many guests for the capacity of the kitchen, reorganize! Less tables or more personnel in the kitchen to avoid a missed chance.
