Great local restaurant. Don't be fooled by the limited menu as all is cooked to perfection in this great family run restaurant. Their Cataplana with clams is to die for but the same could be said for everything else on the menu!

We ate here for lunch soon after arriving in Sagres. The Memmo Baleeira Hotel we were staying in as usual found accommodating our check-in at mid day almost impossible, so we found ourselves with two hours to kill in town, thus...Lunch at Carlos!

My swordfish looked great, but looks can be deceiving, it was a thin oily steak with a little too much brown meat for my liking, it came with boiled potatoes and a large salad on the plate, however this didn't stop the waiter letting us order an identical salad on the side.

Had we known our main came with such a large serving we would not have bothered.

My wife's octopus salad was borderline gross, the chef had failed to clean out its innards, so she spent the start of her meal pulling out all the white gunk from its insides. Yuk.

Best bit of the meal was the 'cover' the bread was the freshest we've had on our holiday. Shame the other dishes could live up to this.

Unlikely to return considering Sagres has so much to offer.

We had a great lunch at this friendly, family run restaurant. There were several locals eating there. There was a good menu from which we both chose grilled sardines with french fries, boiled new potatoes and salad. The sardines were huge, plenteous and cooked to perfection. It is a pity that they had run out of chocolate mousse or we would have eaten these too! The location is not the best as it faces onto a road, but there is good parking nearly and the location did not spoil the meal for us

we went twice to Carlos, once for fish and a second time for Lobster, which had to get organized with a 48h notice. The lobster while certainly more pricey than all other foods served a la Portugese, was worth the money and a real treat.

Carlos is a great guy! good to speak too and discuss food and wine and we enjoyed our time very much.
