It's true, it does have a lovely view. I've stayed there for 2 times and I find it is a bit too expensive for the service provided.
The landscape is beautiful but the surroundings are dreadful. Don't dream of leaving the hotel. The beaches are great, you can have a visit to the Sagres fortress but in terms of touristic or even urban infrastructures, it is all extremely bad. Me and my husband had a severe intoxication in a nearby restaurant called Vila Velha and just stayed ill for the rest of our holidays.
I must say the pousadas are all good, this one adds with the view and the great beaches nearby. We have also stayed at the fortress of Beliche, with only four rooms, also a "Pousada" - it's a great place to dine just about 10 minutes away (by car). It's almost like a visit to the 3rd world - Sagres has nothing to offer but nudist beaches, touristic exploitation, disrespect for holiday makers and a 3rd world service in a pretentious atmosphere (and I am portuguese).
The Pousada is fine, though. My father in law designed it, by the way. My husbands' parents spent their honey mooon there quite a long time ago, when it must have been a very romantic place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Pousada, which is in a spectacular setting with 270-degree views of the breathtaking Atlantic coast. The room was cheery and comfortable and the staff was helpful and friendly. We loved the bar and took our drinks out to the patio to see the sunset over the fortress on the adjoining spit of land - a wonderful way to end the day.

My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights at the Infante in March, 2004. It was a wonderful place and we wished we could have stayed longer. The views over the ocean cliffs are spectacular. This hotel is a pousada, run by the Portuguese gov't, which makes it very unique. There is an interesting nautical theme throughout the hotel and a nice bar and restaurant. The food and service in the restaurant is excellent and definitely worth going to. The view from our suite's balcony was awesome. We watched the sunset over the Atlantic and it was beautiful. As this is a Portuguese run hotel, so don't expect certain amenities, i.e. internet access. My boyfriend proposed to me on the balcony of our suite at this hotel, and it couldn't have been more romantic. We would definitely go back there.
