“We keep coming back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

When planning this year's summer holidays in Portugal, we had one destination in mind: Casa Azul in Sagres. And we were so keen on staying at this cozy place that we were ready to shift our travel dates so that we could spend a proper week in this hotel. Mainly because we knew what to expect: this has been our fourth stay at Casa Azul since 2009. And our expectations were indeed met. Everything was great: the staff was so friendly, the location is as nice as ever, the room and bathroom were spacious and so pleasant, breakfast has quite a few options, the nicest restaurants are right around the corner, and the beaches (although some require a car in order to reach them) are just stunning.

I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this: we are already dreaming of our next visit. Casa Azul will definitely continue to be our home away from home

I and my sister stayed at Casa Azul at the beginning of July and we had an amazing time. We had a very late flight and they picked us up from Lagos, which was really kind.
We booked a full "Surf Package" which includes 5 days of surf lessons and normally they start on Monday, but we have been asked if we wanna start on Sunday. This was one of some reasons which made our trip so personal and individual. It was not like a big surf company, they took care of our personal needs! Thank you very much for that!
Also on the day of departure, our green bus transfer didn't come, so Vincent and his girlfriend took a lot of care and arranged everything, that we still have been able to catch our flight.
The price was insane, compared to other surf camps, it was much cheaper and furthermore we don't had to stay in dorms. Instead we had a beautiful room with a balcony, air condition, tv,... and it was always clean!

We really enjoyed our stay there and it was a pleasure that we have been able to go out with the staff on the last night! It was great fun with you guys! Thank you much for everything. Hope to see you soon, either in Austria or Portugal =D

And it would be great if we can have some of the nice pictures you took during our surf lessons?!

Sunny greetings from Austria!
Stephanie and Veronika

What can i say about Casa Azul, the people, the place, the surf school were all excellent and I'm really looking forward to returning. The rooms were beautifully decorated to such a high standard which made them very comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was amazing, just what you need before a long day of surfing, but what pulled it all together for me were the owners and the people who worked there. I was made feel extremely welcome from the moment you arrive until you walk through over the threshold on your journey home. There is nothing i could suggest that would make this hotel better as it is hard to beat perfection.

Room Tip: Go with the Purple Room, you will find your spiritual senses.

We stayed in a self-catering apartment ('Nirvana') with a small double bedroom and a large twin-bedroom. There was a little verandah out back, accessed from both bedrooms by the sliding glass doors that made up most of one wall in each room. Cool, with air conditioning if needed (though it was hot outside, we didn't actually need the air conditioning because the apartment is cleverly designed to be a comfortable temperature). Excellent bathroom (very powerful shower). Free, very reliable wifi (we were able to watch the Wimbledon final live on a tablet using the wifi to connect with home). Very nice living area with good kitchen facilities. Cleaner came every couple of days and did an amazingly thorough job, leaving fresh towels and doing fresh bedding. Close to everything you could want in Sagres (including very good little supermarket), and just a few minutes' walk down to the excellent Maretta beach. We were welcomed on arrival by Jorge, who took the time to give us a little map of Sagres and talk us through where everything was, showing us the sites and describing the different beaches - we felt he really wanted us to have a good holiday. And we did :-)

We loved the freshness of this hotel; the white towels, the white pillows and the clean surroundings. We also liked the attitude of the people who work there. They do all they can to make you feel comfortably.
Breakfast is great. This hotel is good and it is a good combination with a fine dinner in the sunset at the Pausadas Hotels! We will come back!

Casa Azul is a colourful place in the middle of Sagres. Close to nice restaurants, bars, the harbour and some beaches. But, in a quiet area. The rooms are very nice (colors!), confortable and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast is included in the nice ' azul space' and is absolutely ok. We've stayed a week and we'd definitely go back to Casa Azul when staying in Sagres again.

First time in Sagres and Casa Azul and its coloured interiors definitely added a plus to our stay. We have been given a very comfortable room with balcony, very clean and quite even if they were fully booked. Great breakfast: a perfect mix of local cakes and English b.fast. Last but not least: friendly and helpful staff, very competent despite their young age. Thanks a million... we really enjoyed our stay!
