I was disappointed from the images I saw the online. It wasn't horrible but its pretty much like they took tired hotel and slapped some paint on it. It is nice that they offer breakfast but it is cafeteria style. You can walk to some lovely beaches & to town but I have to say I was a little disappointed. The pool on the roof was freezing but nice that it existed and the little bar up there is nice. If they invest some money in rehabbing this place it could be lovely but it needs help. I also wasn't very impressed with town. The beds were not very comfortable. The walls are thin and the bathroom could use some updating. Overall disappointing.

We stayed at the Carvi Hotel End of May this year to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary... And have recently booked for the same time May 2015!! We absolutely loved this hotel, so peaceful and relaxing. We stayed on the second floor, with the huge balcony. We upgraded as soon as we got there so we had the right room. The breakfast was fab every morning, nice and light and plenty of fresh fruit etc. The staff were all lovely and friendly & the hotel was spotless! The beach close by was stunning & Lagos itself is very traditional with some lovely little restaurants. We found a gorgeous restaurant along the harbour, great steak and service!
This place for us is just perfect for a week of complete relaxing and lots of sunshine:)
The only small downfall for me was that there wasn't a full length mirror in the bedroom, I personally don't like doing hair/make up in the bathroom and it would of been perfect if it had a mirror near the plug socket in the bedroom:)
Also, I would be interested to know if the gym will be back up and running for the next time we visit.
We will be counting down the months till we are back at the Carvi May 2015 :-)

This is a well run clean hotel which I have no hesitation in recommending. The staff are friendly and industrious especially the ladies who staff the breakfast room.
The breakfast was good with a selection of fresh fruit in addition to the normal cold meat. jam, cheese, eggs, sausages etc.
Very close to a stunning beech, costal walks and a nice stretch of the legs into Lagos town.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear do not get direct sunlight and will be cooler in the summer.

We stayed here after booking it through Trivago. When we arrived we had been upgraded to a room with a sea view. The room was very basic but spotlessly clean - having the balcony overlooking the sea definitely made a lot of difference. The hotel staff were very friendly and eager to help - they all spoke fluent English. When they knew we were checking out early they made sure to package up a small breakfast for us free of charge. Breakfast was mainly bread rolls, yoghurts, cake, ham, scrambled eggs and some hot dogs. Self service and unlimited. Overall it was fine and you could find something that you like.Roof top pool and bar are lovely with excellent views. The proximity to the beach is what made the hotel so special, combined with the friendly staff. i will definitely stay again because of the location and price. Good value, clean - basic accomodation. Beautiful beach only steps away.
We would have returned at Christmas and school hols in Feb but unfortunately the hotel closes from mid november to March.

Room Tip: book a sea view - 2nd floor has biggest balconies

What a fantastic beach location. Literally a 20 second walk down to one of the best beaches in Lagos! The room was great - although it had a moist smell (probably the A/C) and the view from the balcony was divine! The pool upstairs was great and perfect for sun baking.
The staff were super helpful with everything i needed. From booking a sunset driving tour (fantastic recommendation from the staff) to letting me use their reception phone for a flight booking drama!
Overall a fantastic place to stay, great facilities, great staff, even better location!

Room Tip: Anything facing the street gives fantastic balcony views of the sea (and the sunrise!)

We were not happy with our allocated room as it overlooked a wall and was a little dark so after speaking to reception we decided to upgrade to a room with a view for an extra10Euros per night. This was much better, spacious and light but lacking in drawer space and with only 6 coat hangers in the wardrobe. After saying all that the staff were lovely and helpful, breakfast was varied and very fresh. A quiet location easily accessible to the beaches and town centre . We explored the area by bus and foot and were delighted the weather was in our favour. we would still go back but would ensure we paid the extra for the views and not just a standard room.

Room Tip: Pay the extra if you want a view otherwise the standard rooms overlook a wall

Dear Gwen G,

Glad to hear that the weather was in your favor during your stay! Exploring the surrounding area on foot is really the best way to see everything. Although your stay was almost perfect, we will take your suggestion of more storage space to heart. Your comments help us improve so for that we thank you!

Best,
Victor

This is definitely the best beach location in Lagos, just a few steps and you are on Praia Dona Ana beach.
Also, just 10 min. walk to the historic center of town with lots of good restaurants and bars.
Very enjoyable was the surprise of a "very small but very good" spa. One of the most professional treatment I received in Lagos by far.
The only disappointment was a "non existing" bar on the roof terrace, the most amazing views over the beach and sea, but 2,50 for plastic cup of some undisclosed box wine - what a pity!

Dear Algarvi,

Thank you for your review! I am so happy to hear that the Spa service was a great experience! The Spa is a very new amenity we added to see if our guests enjoyed it and it's been very positive. Hope you had an all around good vacation!

Best,
Victor
