A very friendly hotel in a great location and with a great view of the marina from the front rooms. Well worth paying extra for the marina view.
Convenient for everything and only a ten minute stroll to the town centre.

This hotel is in a location that on paper doesn't sound so good - in front of the bus station. But, the buses don't run late and if you are arriving by bus this location is immensely convenient. Across the street is a foot bridge over he river and romthere it is a short walk to the tarin station.
The rooms are very clean. I was a little annoyed by all of the noise coming from the nearby rooms until I realized, and appreciated, the thorough steam cleaning being undertaken.
The rooms on the front have nice views of the water. But, you could stay on the bus station side for less money and enjoy the same water view from the rooftop terrace.
The breakfast was good and the desk staff were helpful and pleasant.
The price, too, was reasonable. I woudl definitely stay here again.
We have just returned from a week's stay at the Marina Rio in Lagos and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The hotel, which has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, provides a bed and breakfast facility which was more than adequate for our needs with ample selection of things to eat. It is the only Hotel we have stayed in where, during the course of breakfast, a member of the Hotel staff appeared to check that the temperature of the Served food was correct!!
The cleanliness of the Hotel was excellent, towels were changed and rooms cleaned every day and bedding changed three times per week.
The reception staff were friendly and were eager to answer any queries we had and the tour representative (Dave) was also very informative and helpfull.
Although on a main road we did not find this to be noisy whatsoever, and we would recommend a marina view.
There are some very nice walks around the promenade and the town of Lagos has some lovely restaurants providing excellent, freshly-cooked food whenever you wish to eat. We can reccomend "Fernando's" as the food is all freshly cooked just to your liking. The beach is vast and spotlessly clean.
We had lovely weather for the time of year - a bit 'chilly' some nights. To see the sun rise over the marina at the front of the hotel was something to behold, as was the sunset in the evening.
All in all, a very lovely holiday.

called in at the tourist information office in Lagos who gave me several addresses. Liked the look of the Marina Rio so called in. I was made very welcome and shown to my room whitch was over-looking the bus depot but the balcony was in full sun, I did not find the bus depot noisy in fact I was very supprised that when I went to bed the depot was full of busses and when I got up in the morning they had nearly all gone and I had not heard a sound. I felt quite sorry for the people who had a marina view as they did not get the same amount of sun-shine as those of us at the back, I also find the commings and goings of the busses interesting. There was also a travellers market some days next to the hotel which sold all manner of thing, some reviews found this noisy at 5am I was supprised at this comment as I was not aware of any noise. Would I go again, YES definitly The hotel was very clean and the reception staff could not have been more helpful and friendly if they had tried. What did supprise me, was when I booked in and reception gave me the price of my stay it was CHEAPER because I was a single occupier not like this country when you have to pay half as much again for single occupancy. As I said would I go again YES

The cleanliness of the Hotel was excellent, towels changed and rooms cleaned to a high specification every day and beds changed three times per week.
The reception staff were friendly and were eager to answer any queries we had and the tour representative was also very informative, but never 'pushy'.
There is a nice, small, roof sun terrace, but if you decide that you need a hotel with a 'swimming' pool, this is not the place for you. We would have described it as a 'dipping' or 'bobbing' pool in the roof area, which we are sure would be very pleasant on the hot days that the Algarve enjoy.
We did not find the road outside to be noisy whatsoever, and we would recommend a marina view - even though in January we did not get the sunshine on the verandah, whereas the rear of the hotel - overlooking the bus station - did!!!
There are some very nice walks along the flat promenade and the town of Lagos has some lovely restaurants providing excellent, freshly-cooked food whenever you wish to eat. The beach is vast and spotlessly clean.
We had lovely weather for the time of year - a bit 'chilly' some nights, but then we were in the middle of January! To see the sun rise over the marina at the front of the hotel was something to behold, as was the sunset in the evening.
All in all, a very lovely holiday - we have come back with a lovely colour - and we are envious of our friends who are staying for another week!!!
