This review might be too short to describe everything happened at this place. We booked a table the day before as it is always booked. The all night was a bit caotic and a bit funny at some points. Once sit, the order for drinks and courses was taken 15minutes later, not bad for a place of not more than 40persons capacity. No problem, it's not a big issue. We ordered "calamari", "sardine salad" and "sirloin steak". We got the first two starters (tapas) after 30minutes, anyway the food was ok. One of the owner apologized for the dilate, we appreciated that. We got also some pieces of paper (they seemed napkins) fallen from the Chinese restaurant located upstair, just a funny thing.
All the staff was runnning the all time, even other people beside us realized it and were a bit worried.
The most negative aspect was when I realized that they were putting the cooked fish/meat of the grill on the same plates they used to bring the raw fish/meat to the grill. The plates were simply cleaned with paper. I even saw the cook smelling one of the plates...don't know seeking what. Once cooked, the stuff was sent to the kitchen and moved to clean plates. This is a typical case of cross-contamination, which the owner did not consider important. I worked for many years in restaurant in different countries and this is a basic rule which is taught at all the staff, Portugal is not an exception. Salmonella can kill!!! Some rules cannot be neglected. Raw and cooked food can never be mixed or come in contact. Hope they will change their procedure.
We have been offered the entire meal by the owner (we didn't eat the steak, not risk).
The place is very nicely decorated! we didn't have the opportunity to taste the griiled food which I supposed is really good.
