We had dinner at this restaurant over the weekend. I had not eaten there for years after a previous bad experience. We were invited by friends.
Like the Portuguese Contributor above, I was almost abused when I asked for a menu in Portuguese which I speak fluently. The hygiene conditions of the restaurant made me wonder why ASAE (the local health and safety agency) have not cited this place.
While the pork chops (febras) turned out to be lombinho do porco (pork tenderloin) and quite nice, it was quite clear that this establishment targets non-portuguese speaking tourists. We were given a sardine starter and a glass of Muscatel as hors d'oeuvre without even being asked if we wanted it. (I was driving so I was not drinking. )
Generally not a good evening!
