“Excellent food quality and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

I had the rack of lamb and it was to die for! The prawns are also fantastic - very busy restaurant so get there as early as possible as they do not take bookings and you may have to queue. Known locally as 'the blue door',

“amazing fish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013 via mobile

cracking little fish restaurant away from the main square. well worth going. it's small, cramped and basic in there, and we ended sharing a table with another couple, but if u get over that its the best fish u can eat. so fresh and tasty. perfectly grilled. big portions. we had the scabblefish and Salmon. the salmon was amazing. house wine was very drinkable and the bill was cheap! im told (by a regular) that the restaurant has managed to negotiate first dibs on the morning catch at the local (just round the corner) fish market... which is hoe they get the best fish. service was good - they speak basic english in there, but they're friendly! highly recommended!

“Top quality food and great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

This is a very busy restaurant that serves simple meals that are cooked absolutely beautifully. Large portions and very affordable wine list. It's crowded but we got to meet an interesting couple sharing our table. A satisfying place to eat. Arriving early seems to be the best approach as queues build from 8 onwards.

“Nice food , reasonable prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

This place has a good reputation , and gets good reviews , its very busy so you have to book or queue outside for a table - we queued for about 20 minutes.

Don't expect a flash restaurant - this is a fairly basic family run home cooking sort of a place - its very busy and can be very hot inside because the air con is almost non existent .
The menu is very basic with no detailed description at all, for instance there are 3 Prawn dishes on the menu at different prices but they all say just 'Prawns' . There is no explanation of how its cooked , what it comes with, or how big it is , so you need to ask the waiting staff to explain everything.
As it turns out the Prawns are 3 different sizes simply cooked in sauce and the price is for a Kilo ! which the waitress said was a starter !! Even the small ones are huge by UK standards.

Its basic fare , mainly seafood , simply cooked and served , but its really nice , prices are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly too.

On the whole good local style food and worth a visit

“Still fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013 via mobile

Thrilled to be able to visit here again. Super prawns, great grilled fish and delicious fig, date and carob cake. House wine is very drinkable. Portions are huge. Myself and my partner would share prawns to start and share grilled fish for a main course. It was loads. Meals never more than about €35 for two with lots of wine. Staff very friendly. Get there early. Highly recommend.
