We had a wonderful time in the hotel because of
- the lovely appartments (high standard and quality),
- the good service, and
- the lovely food (restaurant and room service, except for the salads).
Would recommend it any time and return. We had a car which is absolutely necessary if you plan to see the Algarve.

Is a very nive hotel, the suites are fantastic, restaurant is good but a litle expensive and the location is beutiful.
Is not near town and a litle bir isolated.
For me is very good in summer time because the pool is nice, very calm and good for a relaxion holidays.

This hotel was okay. I am not sure that it is a five star hotel - food was not great. I have looked at other reviews and I feel that we certainly did not get same service. You need a car definitey. Nearby beach is lovely but hotel does not have dircet access you climb down side of hill-so be careful. Spa was okay. Most staff were friendly though.

We have just returned from a 7 day chritsmas break at the Alba Suites, the staff could not have been more helpful the managerss greeted us on arrival. The suites themselves are extremely luxurious with plasma tvs in each room and a dvd player in the lounge, luxury bed linen and a seemingly endless supply of towels. The suites are in a very remote location and you do need a hire car but it is very easy to get into carverio and armacao de pera 10 mins at most.
The pool area is fabulous as is the indoor pool although a bit on the smallside.
As to the food we had the set 6 course meal on xmas eve and on xmas day and despite the last review i can assure you that the food is defintely 5 star however the restaurant could do with improving its atmosphere.
The one negative i have is that Breakfast was not up to the standards of a 5 star resort, there was only a very limited choice, the cat was not a problem very well behaved.
We had a 5 year old with us and she very much enjoyed the well equipped playground. On xmas day a large white rabbit delivered gifts to our daughter and also to ourselves
When we stayed the internet access was not working in the rooms. however the staff let us use there computer and the problem was fixed within a few days.
The spa treatments are very good, although the changing rooms are extremely cold but then it was Dec.
also you need to be aware that although you have a kitchen area there is no equipment what so ever not even a kettle. The only thing you have is a corkscrew and 3 plates and cutlery.
overall we have stayed in several 5 star resorts and for luxury this is one of the best, although they do need to have a bit more information about the resort and the area in either reception or the rooms.
