As usual you read reviews and you dont know what you are getting but as soon as you arrive your worrys are all gone. The hotel itself is perfectly situated at the outskirts of the town which is a good 10 min walk away to lovely resteruants and bars and the beach which is again a 10 min walk albiet very steep and not for the unfit.
One of the highlight for me of the holiday was the fact you could go have your breakfast, potter about and not worry about getting shade or a bed at the pool, no one was putting towls down at 3am and then not turning up till mid aftrenoon, and to be honest i think this was because there was not a lot of British there, I know the cliche' is blame the Germans but it has been my experience that we are far worse than any one else.
The room was older than some of the hotels we have stayed in however the veiw was spectacular and having a fridge in your room was great for keep a bottle of wine chilled and keep your eyes peeled when sitting on the balconey as we had the luck of seeing a pod of common dolphins gently swim past.
The staff were friendly and very helpfull and all in all i could not fault our stay at the hotel. This was our first holiday in Portugal and we would go again especially to this hotel. It was our anniversary when we went and i had emailed the hotel to let them know and we were greated with a bottle of sparkling wine and a fruit basket and it is these little touches that made our time there very special.
