We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. Initially i was disappointed with the length of time for the transfer (1 1/2 hours) but the hotel and location more than made up for this and the patience was worth it. The Hotel was situated right on the beach with the options of being by the pool or on the beach. I did find the charge for the beach a little excessive at 13.00 euros though. The staff are second to none, nothing was too much trouble and they were all so polite and friendly (very different from spain) The surrounding areas are undergoing some improvements, however this did not cause any inconvenience to us. The works will look fabulous when finished. There is a fantastic restaurant on the beach called Rocha Da Palha about quarter of a mile down that we found. The prices are reasonable and the foods excellent. There are limited places to eat so you might want to consider half board at the hotel. We only had breakfast and wished we had book full or half board. The food at the hotel is wonderful, freashly made and a vast selection even for a picky eater like me. Overall we had a fantastic holiday, the hotel is superb and if i go back i would definately stay again.

This hotel is in a really good position right on the beach and near enough to walk to restaurants bars etc.

Our room was lovely with a sea view and fridge and cleaned well every day.

We ate in the restaurant one evening but it was quite expensive for bog standard buffet food. Lots of other good restaurants nearby.
We also found drink in the bar expensive and the snacks by the pool although there is a wonderful little beach bar right next to the hotel that does great snacks and cheap drinks.
Breakfast was good with everything you could want. The only problem was if you sat out side on the terrace the tables were not cleared and cats were on the tables eating what was left.
The entertainment in the evenings was much better than most hotels but as the bar was expensive some nights there was only half a dozen people in there.

The main thing that spoilt our holiday was that they closed to pool three days in to our stay with no warning for urgent repairs. Not only did this mean there was no pool to swim in but lots of dust and noise. We were told we could use another hotel but this was quite a walk in the heat. We were offerd no compensation at all for this.

Despite this we would staty there again as it is a clean friendly hotel in a great position.

After having recently visited the Hotel Garbe, I would strongly recommend the hotel to any person of any age. A beautiful setting, 10 yards from an idylic beach and wonderful facilities within the complex. The hotel staff were very helpful toward us all, 24 golfers, ages ranging from 13 to 71. Got off the plane at Faro and everything from tee times and transfers (airport and courses) were arranged for us. Food in the hotel was excellent and the Raj Restaurant adjoining it was superb!! A boat trip to the caves along the coast is a must and if like me you enjoy your golf then the Vale De Pinta and Gramacho courses are perfectly manicured and a stern test of your golf. We spent a long weekend at the Garbe before continuing our half term vacation in a Villa. It is our fourth visit to the hotel, we always comment on it's spectacular position on the beach - the children were keen to get out onto the sand straight from breakfast each morning. The pool was warm, staff always helpful and friendly especially Reception and the Bar (freshly squeezed orange juice in the poolside bar was amazing). The evening entertainment gave the adults in our party a chance to spend some grown-up time together after dinner, enjoying great views of the sunset. Local restaurants provided memorable lunches and a chance to enjoy fresh sardines. Our room was spacious and clean. Improvements to the road outside the hotel didn't bother us at all as we happily used the beach instead and enjoyed the experience of walking back barefoot in the sand! All-in-all another fantastic stay, thanks to all at the Garbe.
