Very basic furnishings with horrid hard beds. Air conditioning in our room (212) very poor, sometimes it was cooler outside than inside with air con on full. They say bed linens changed once per week so during our 14 night stay they were only changed once, which we didn't think was adequate. Sofa in living room could be changed into a bed but wasn't needed, thankfully as it was quite smelly! Kitchen was well equipped and kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge were very good. Pools were freezing and mattresses for sunloungers cost 1 euro each per day. If you left pool area and wanted to return you had to pay again. WIFI cost 10 euros per week and was very good, a little slower on a weekend but not a problem. A small, pretty, quiet resort with a number of restaraunts and shops, not a lot to do. Overall a very basic no frills accomodation, which while pleasant didn't do it for us.

A party of 8 of us went here to celebrate a friend's 40th early in October. We went Friday to Monday. My husband and I shared a 5 bed apartment with another couple and at 53 euros a night for the 4 of us I was not expecting anything too special. Well ..... It was absolutely spacious and clean!! Knowing that one couple was going to have to sleep in the lounge area was a little disconcerting but before getting there I thought it's only for a few nights but again we were all pleasantly surprised to discover there was a separate partitioned bedroom area. With 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area and soft seating with TV plus a balcony it was fab! Our friends accommodation was equally as good. In fact one of the ground floor rooms without balcony was just over £30 a night, still with kitchen etc.,The use of the hotel pool and nearby facilities in the snack bar area (including a larger pool) was lovely. Very reasonably priced breakfasts and snacks were served. It did help having friends with us who had relatives living close by who introduced us to places in the locality. Loved the cliff top walk and beach cafes. Had fun at the Banana Bar. A great Mai Tai cocktail! Excellent for the time of year, great price. Want to definitely return, but no surprise prices are terrifically more during summer season. Here's to next autumn!

Good sized room. However we booked a single room for 2 adults and a child but on our very late arrival found only two beds made up. The sofa bed was ancient and broken and had no linen or pillows. No towels for the third person either. Our daughter slept in one of the beds with us and in the morning I explained the issue. Amazingly, they opened the other room in the apartment for us and sorted out the towels and so on. What lovely people. The second quiet pool was being refurbed whilst we were there but was almost finished by the time we left. Noise was an issue from the work but we spent all day on the beach after a a lazy breakfast so no issue. Pools were only 12C so there was no way I would have swum in them anyway! ;) a wonderful week. Access to the beach is via two sets of steps both of which are really well lit for late night returns and have benches to rest your tired legs on. The town is rustic and so very Portugese with a great supermarket, and lots of bars, cafés and restaurants. It was a quiet vibe, which really suited us. The beach is huge but access to the complete length is prohibited until about 60 mins after high tide, loads of fun timing your run across the shore to avoid getting a soaking up against the rocks! Check the tides. Great for body boarding and swimming, sandcastles and goofing about. Loved it all.

My husband and I stayed here in Sep 2012 for a week. I was pregnant at the time. This was one of the best holidays we have ever had. We travelled with Jet2 and the cost was reasonable. The location is lovely a nice small town not too far from albufeira (on the bus). It has plenty restaurants shops and a beach all close to the hotel although the beach is down a bit of a steep hill. The prices are good and the food was good every wear we ate. The Hotel itself is great only downside is the reception was closed so we had to check in at the hotel next door which we were aware of before but there were no signs to tell us where to go so I had to stay with the bags while my husband went to find it. We were given a key card to get in the hotel as and when we pleased which is a really good idea. The rooms are just what you need a good size with everything you need, clean, views are nothing special but not bad. My one complaint would be the beds are not that comfy a little bit on the hard side but i probably noticed this more being pregnant. The pool is very close it is a good size and clean. It was nice and quiet around the pool when we stayed so there was always beds and tables available and a nice relaxing atmosphere. The pool bar is in the hotel next door but its only a few steps away. The hotel has a restaurant underneath that opens on an evening that does fantastic food. I loved this holiday and cant wait to return hopefully next September with our child. It was very quiet and relaxing but with plenty around to keep you occupied. I would definitely recommend,

Room Tip: Our room was facing the front of the hotel rather than the pool it was nice and quiet,

Me & hubby went in May last year as a cheap week away. Went here as previous reviews were good and the total cost was cheap.
Nice surprise when we arrived. We got there early (11am) and the receptionist let us in a bit earlier. The reception/ check in/ info etc is all at the hotel next door - awkward but they are lovely.

Great little room. Separate kitchen, bedroom & front room were divided by a blind, but that didn't put us off. As there were 2 of us the sleeping arrangements were fine, but a 3rd person would have to sleep on a couch effort next to the door :/

Maid service every day, fresh towels & bedding every day during our stay also. 5 min walk from the shops & 10mins to the beach :)

Looking at returning with the kids this time :)

We stayed in the ApartHotel Olhos De Agua from the 11th - 18th September. On arrival we checked into the Oceanus which is a sister hotel and the reception is always open there. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

We stayed in a self catering apartment which was spacious with a modern kitchen and bathroom.

The nearest beach was a 5 minute walk down a hill. This was also where a lot of restaurants and bars were. There was also another nice beach in walking distance less than a 15 min walk straight down the road at the back of the hotel. We bought a map and found many other nice beaches in walking distance.

Outside the Oceanus was a bus stop and taxi rank. It's really easy to get to Albuferia on each but be aware that rates change in the evenings and on weekends.

The hotel was happy to help with excursions too and gave a 10% discount. We went to the splash and slide waterpark and on a cruise along the coastline and caves, both of which I would recommend. There was a coach to the waterpark but it took over an hour because we were the first pick up of many. For the boat trip we made our own way to the marina and it ended up being quite expensive because it was a Saturday.

If you want to do water sports I would recommend the Albuferia new town beach (Praia de Oura) We did parasailing at that beach.

Albuferia new town is much more lively at night than Olhos d'Agua so if you want that definitely go there.

All in all it was a lovely holiday with plenty to do and amazing weather.
