“Spacious and beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

We stayed with our family of 5 - all adults. Our 3 bedroom apartment was massive and gave everyone a feeling of space. The pool was quiet and refreshing, and everything was well kept, and the apartment very clean. We enjoyed the walk into Old Town along the water every day, though for some it may be too far (20 min). We appreciated previous reviews remarking there was no dish detergent, dish cloths or coffee, and were glad we had packed them. The kitchen was otherwise well equipped and large enough for simple meals, which is all we wanted to cook on holiday! Having 3 bath rooms was a definite luxury. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend this apartment.

We had a three bedroom apartment. It was enormous. It was bigger than some gites that we rented in France! There were only four of us so this helped. Pool is excellent. The kettle only had a capacity of 1 litres which is small for a large apartment. As usual for these types of apartment there is not quite enough equipment to cook for you self and only 2 wine glasses. But relatively well equipped - washing machine and dishwasher; hair dryer and ironing board. The marina area in Albufeira seems to have been a flop: lots of vacant shops. We normally walked to Albufeira - about 30 minutes. Though there are some restaurants closer than this. Nearest good snack bar is Iguana Cafe which has excellent views from the terrace and good simple food. It closes at 8 pm though. Castelo del Mar is even closer but we did not try it. Very good apartment complex for a quiet holiday and Albufeira itself is not difficult to walk to even though much of the journey is uphill. There is a mini market at the complex and the nearest decent supermarket is 10 minutes walk in the direction of Albufeira: go as far as the cemetery turn left up the steps and then look left and you will see the supermarket.

beautiful apartments bright , colourful and very clean. it is situated 20 minute walk from the old town and 2 minutes from a beautiful Marina. staff at reception are very friendly and helpful. it is child friendly and quiet enough to enjoy good nights sleep and everything you could ask for at hand. June is a time we aim for every year as it is quiet and not over crowded. it would suit familys , group of friends or solo. I would recommend it for those who like to be out of the hustle bustle .

Room Tip: all apparments and rooms are quiet

A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in May and had a great time. The apartment it's self was much bigger than we were expecting and was nice and clean. The pool was also really nice, very clean and refreshing though I imagine at peak season it may be a bit of a struggle to get a sun lounger with an umbrella (which is only a potential issue if you burn easily like I do!).

The Marina is very close but there is not much going on there. Again we were a little early in the season so this probably had an effect. The aprtments are a little further away from the centre of Albuferia than I was expecting, only a 5euro taxi but that adds up if you do it every day. I liked being further outy as it was lovely and quiet but that might not be everyone's cup of tea.

The staff were brilliant, they gave us lots of advice on where to go and recommended a couple of great restaurants.

All in all, a nice place, and I would go back.

These apartments are clean, spacious and modern not to mention colourful. The fact that they are a 20 min walk from the Oldtown means that you have peace and quiet when wanting to relax and yet you're only a short walk or a cheap taxi ride from the shopping and nightlife. The staff are very polite and helpful. We will be returning!

Apologies that this is a long review, but before we went we spent a lot of time reading reviews and the more detail the better in helping to make the decision (that's my logic anyway!). My boyfriend and I (aged 30) went for 1 week in June 2014.

RECEPTION
The reception area is very large, clean and nice with air-conditioning, TV screen and a large stand full of brochures for various activities and trips.
All the reception staff we dealt with were very polite and helpful. Check-in was straightforward although we arrived around 2pm and were told to come back around 3pm when our room would be ready. We checked out very early (6am) so just left our keys with a security guard at reception (it is a 24 hour manned reception).
We used the free wifi in the reception area (you can just about connect to it from some places at the edge of the pool area) and I think from the seated cafe area. The wifi worked very well, just ask at reception for the password (free, unlimited use). In the reception area there are tables with chairs and comfy sofa chairs so you can comfortably browse the web, email etc (also there is air con and toilet facilities).

POOL AND GROUNDS
The toilets in the reception area are handy for when you’re around the pool area, especially if your apartment is a bit of a walk from the pool.
The main pool is a large round pool, very clean, a bit cold at first but lovely after a few minutes when you get use to it. There are a few smaller children’s pools that are shallower so a bit warmer.
The sun beds are a bit worse for wear (some broken so you couldn’t prop the back up) but most have brollies and were fine and there were plenty of them around the pool area.
The grounds around the pool area are well kept and nice to look at. As others here have said, the apartments onto or overlooking pool are definitely worth it.
There are some stray cats around but they are quite sweet and harmless and don’t tend to approach you unless you beckon them.

ACCOMMODATION
The 1 bed apartment we had was spacious, clean, well equipped, and cleaned and tidied every day by the maids (beds made, bins emptied, floor swept briefly) which was good. There is a huge amount of storage space with plenty of wardrobes and drawers. Tiled floor throughout and the apartment kept quite cool.
BEDROOM – air con, ‘double’ bed was 2 singles put together (as is quite common in Europe), full length mirror, very large double wardrobe with drawers, extra chest of drawers and lamps on bedside tables each side.
KITCHEN – the kitchen is very spacious with all mod cons (washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, oven, iron, ironing board, clothes airer. Also plenty of cutlery, crockery, glasses and mugs etc). Take your own dish brush and washing up liquid otherwise you have to find somewhere to buy some.
HALL/LOUNGE/DINER – extremely spacious with air con, dining table and 4 chairs. Old style TV with only 2 English channels – a music TV channel and CNN news. We had a double sofa, one arm chair, and a coffee table.
BALCONY – we had a very small balcony with one small round table and 2 chairs. All other balconies we saw looked bigger and better, I think we were unlucky!

CAR PARK
We had a hire car which we parked in the secure gated underground car park. It was very handy as the parking space was directly down a stair case from our apartment which was very easy access. At check in reception gave us a beep key to keep in the car that opens the exit and entry gates, and you get an allocated space with your apartment number on.

LOCAL AREA/MARINA/ALBUFEIRA
The marina is about a 5 min walk away which has some nice cafes/bars and restaurants, nothing too loud or crazy but is a nice place to sit in the sun or shade and watch the boats.
Albufeira town itself is approx. a 20min walk up a little hill part of the way. We found this walk quite easy but I can see how some people may find it a bit of a hassle or even difficult for some.
Taxis cost us around 8 euros when we got them back to the Orada apartments when we couldn’t be bothered to walk back as well as there. There is a taxi rank that is easy to find in the main town.
One evening we went to the restaurant at the top of the hill (on the walk to Albufiera town) called ‘Castelo Do Mar’ and we highly recommend it. Fantastic food if you want a special meal (a little pricier but not much and very worth it), be sure to book in advance by popping in or calling as they get very busy.
I’d highly recommend the apartment complex and the area, it’s pretty quiet around the marina and the apartments themselves and probably ideal for families, we saw quite a few. As a couple we really enjoyed our holiday here and were glad of our hire car to explore the Algarve.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the pool area.

We have just returned from a wonderful Holiday to Albufeira where we stayed at the Turisticas da Orada.
Apartments: The apartments were huge and had everything you needed, and cleaned on a regular basis.
The pool was just a stones throw away, so was very easy to get to.
The marina was just a five minute walk away and had ample bars and cafes to eat and drink in, prices were 2.50 euros for a beer (which was always nice and cold) and cocktails/ shorts 5 euros but were very very large, and the bars would stay open for as long as you wanted. Pippas bar does a great gin and tonic and if you want to learn to salsa there are free lessons on a Thursday night at the Sangria bar (this is where a lot of the locals go to dance).
Meals everywhere always came with chips/potatoes it would have been nice to have had a choice of rice or pasta instead but still the meals were always well presented and good. Prices ranged from 6 euros up to 14 euros according to what you had. For the best breakfast you wont go wrong with the breakfast at Paragrafo club cafe at the marina, the cost was 5 euros but it was huge with fat sausages and British bacon, and 1.50 euros for a freshly squeezed orange juice.
Night life: For a more livelier night life you will have to walk/bus to Albufeira old town which was approx a 20 min walk away and this is also where the beach is, it is slightly hilly but a enjoyable walk with wonderful views. We always felt safe walking back at night and the route is well lit.
If you like live Rock music then the Rock cafe is for you in the old town, but it can be expensive drinks wise so if you go to a cafe beforehand ask if they have any Rock Cafe cards which they sign and you can then buy your first round of drinks and get the second round free, we saved over 60 euros doing this for a party of 7.
The Strip although lively is not as nice as the old town, and is more geared up for teenagers, the 20yrs plus that were with us preferred the old town.

Boat Trips/day entertainment: All boat trips go from the harbour and always seem busy, we went on the caves and coast trip which cost 25 euros each and lasted 3 hours, but there are loads to choose from including the booze cruise that the younger ones did.
If you want to get to see some of Portugal then the best way to do this is by the jeep safari,
This can range from 25 to 35 euros all according to which company you go with but it is well worth the trip as you get to see the other side of life in Portugal.
For a bit of fun there is a karting centre 'Hotwheels Raceway' under ground at the Marina, this cost us 15 euros for 10 mins (we got 17 mins though) the cars are really good and we all had a good laugh. There are a lot of various time packages available and if you get a free Albufeira town map there is a 10% discount voucher in it.
Transfers: We went with best transfers for you and all went really smoothly, the drivers all talk really good English and are really really helpful.
I hope this information helps and always happy to give any further information via email. Cheers and enjoy your Holiday :0)

Room Tip: Ask for a bottom room as this goes straight out onto the lawn and faces the pool we had a room in bl...
