stopped here from sept 15th till 22nd,did not read any reviews before we went, went with open mind, what a mistake i understand you pay for what you get,the staff were unhelpfull,we were there 1week and the floors were not cleaned all week the linen was not changed all week and the noise just went on all night the sign in reception about noise after 11 is a joke did not go to pool because so much swearing and shouting going on understand we did not pay much but expected the basics to be right only plus point was the location dropped a sweet wrapper on the stairs as i was carrying cases up it was still there when i left a week lateri have travelled about a bit but this was the worst experience we have had

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in! Wouldn't let my dog stay in this hotel never mind a human being. We booked this apartment in June 2012 for Sept 2012 and with having a 5 month old baby we booked a ground floor room. When we arrived at the apartment on the Friday afternoon I wouldn't even say we were greeted warmly but we could get over that. Once all the formalilies were sorted we were advised of our room number on the first floor. We explained that we booked the ground floor hence having a baby with a buggy and would need to be moved, We were told nothing could be done about this til the Monday of the next week. We got to our room after only one us being able to fit in the lift comfortably with the pram whilst the other one took the stairs and a smell hit us of drains. We opened the door to the bathroom and had to shut it straight away. How were we meant to take a shower in there never mind bath our baby! The bedroom and living room area were nothing to look at also. Our room was meant to be self catering and you never guess what we had to ask for? A kettle! Our room didn't even have a kettle or a microwave or a plug for the sink so we had fun trying to sterilise bottles for the baby as you could imagine. There was a booklet of everything kept in the apartment and how much they would charge if you damaged anything. We complained about the vile smell in the apartment the next day and the receptionnist advised us the plumber was coming on Monday! This was not good enough as the smell had made us feel physically sick. Along with the fact we had had no sleep having to endure (this is no exaggeration) the noise of people shouting all over the apartment block all night and the 'ping' of the nearby lift all night long. We understand people are having fun but what is laughable is the sign in reception stating that if there is any noise after 11pm then the police will be called! Joke! Anyway, the last straw was when we attempted to run a quick bath and a cockroach came out the plughole and demanded to be moved. They eventually moved us across the road to another block of apartments. What can we say, the only decent thing about that place was there was no smell. There was one plug socket in the bedroom which was hanging out the wall, wires and everything. No child older than our son could have stayed there. The decor was drab, it smelt musty and yet again we had to ask for a kettle. A dribble of warm water came out the shower head and the bath tap and on our last night we used our five litre water bottles from the kitchen tap to fill a hot bath. We felt so poor having to live like that and it was not acceptable on holiday. A time you're meant relax. We spent every day out of the apartment and in the end couldn't wait to get home. We advise nobody to stay here.

Room Tip: dont bother

on booking these aprtments i had been totally oblvious to the comments but then when the time grew closer i read some and was appalled at some of them and started to fret over what i had booked for me and my boyfriend's first holiday together! here i will tell the truth!! on arrivial we were granted all the requests i had made early check in and ground floor! off we went to room 007 and going down on the lift wasnt pleasant as it was very tiny and closed in, once we opened the lift door all i could describe it as was a dungeon, no lights and not a clue what was to meet us, so had to use our phones for light to find our room, eventually got to the room went and was quite surprised that there was no smell that meet me, kitchen and dining area was very spacious and clean! then the bedroom was next, opened door was two single beds pushed together which isnt surprising as most places do this, then opened the sliding wardrobe and the smell was disgusting, a mixture of damp, mould and pee! bathroom next and i wouldnt fault the facilities in the bathroom shower was very powerful and toilet etc was fine but the smell was horrible the shower curtain had taken some abuse over the time and was covered in mould pee and lord knows what else! as the comments from previous people had scared me i had packed flash wipes and to sort the smell in the sliding cupboard out we hung several wipes there but we did not place our clothes in here as was simple disgusting! the same with the bathroom. the sofa in the living area was also smelly but some deodrant sorted the stence of this! the pool is freezing and small! the staff are nice some of them some not so nice! getting a drink at the bar can prove time consuming as there is only one lady on both reception and the bar! ice lolly selcetion isnt the best!! nor is the food! they ran out of drink while we were there so we resorted to spending our time on the beach as alot of young ones were round the pool and were unbearable to listen to! is in a conveinet spot as well bit of a hill to the town but only two minutes from the beach and a supermarket! wouldnt return ever as there were other three star resorts and were a lot cleaner and over all nicer!

Room Tip: ground floor seems cleaner than any of the rest of the apartments!

We staying here from September 8-11 and had a great time. We were asked if our room was to be cleaned on the 2nd day but I figure since I don't wash my bedsheets every 2 days its no problem. Its super close to the beach, super close to the strip (albiet a little bit of an uphill walk!) and in a great location. The room was spacious for the two of us. Kitchen facilities were basic but handy. The bathroom had a bit of a not nice aroma but I find thats the case with places super close to the beach.

You get what you pay for with this place. It is cheap so don't expect the highest standards. I find that most people who complain about places like this are serial complainers who will nit pick at anything! If you are paying for a cheap place, don't expect the Ritz. Being cheap means you will be getting something that doesn't offer you all the luxuries you are expecting. And if you paid a lot for it then you obviously are doing something wrong. Maybe don't go through an agent who charges an arm and a leg on commission and book somewhere nicer with your money. If you can use trip advisor to complain, you know your way around the internet and you can use lowcostholidays or onthebeach or bookings.com. We paid £250 each for flights and accomm from London. It was a steal and we are happy we came here.

Positives

Friendly staff (they also helped us book cruises and taxi's)
Spacious apartments
Kitchen Facilities
Amazing Location
Clean Pool

Negitives

No luggage room (we had to leave our bags by the pool table, nothing was taken but it was a bit unnerving)

this has to be by far the worst place in portugal, the apartments were not clean to start with, we had to ask for fresh towels and linen on 4th day and the place was never cleaned. the smell in the bathroom was awful, we spent a fortune on air freshers and sprays, we did complain about this but nothing was done, also the noise was unbearable making it almost impossible to sleep. the pool area is very small with v few beds but the beach is very close by. black bags of rubbish lay outside our appartment for 3 days, half the lights and some of the sockets didnt work at all, I would strongly advise against booking oura sol ever, food and drinks at bar are none existent and if you do look for something the receptionist will get it for you eventually but really not worth the cost or wait.. v little kitchen equipment no cloths no kettle or brush etc, I was really shocked about how bad this place was, no idea how it ever got 3 * rating, i wouldnt give it more than 1.

The apartments were in a great location, less than 5 minute walk from the beach and the main strip. The rooms were basic, but that was to be expected. The apartments were also spotless on arrival. However, they were not cleaned very often during our stay. We were there for 10 nights and the bed linen was never changed. Our towels were only changed once, we would have liked to have been provided fresh towels more often. Rubbish was regularly removed however.
The appartments were very noisy 24 hours a day, particularly late at night. It was a common occurrence to have loud music and parties continue well into the night.Signs in the lobby stated that there was a noise curfew at 11pm. This was definitely not enforced. Hallways and stairs were also poorly lit.
In terms of location, these apartments are perfect. However, I would not recommend if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. More suitable to night owls!
