just returned from 1 week (25/5/12) from Albufiera, Turial Park at Fisherman's Beach. We had a studio for two people, Room A209. This had a large balcony and the sun shone from sunrise to sunset on it. A wee suntrap. The studio for some reason did not get much sun as there was a shade so this helped keep the room cooler. Air conditioning was included in the price of the room. There was also a tv but not much english tv which didn't bother us as we were out most of the time. There is a full size cooker with grill and oven. (great) and a good size fridge.
There is plenty of space to hang up stuff, and a few drawers. We had two couches which we used as a bed.it is the size of a single bed. with cushions during the day. You have various pots and pans which can be used to boil water. no kettle IMPROVISE. No hairdryer but your hair will dry in about 5 mins anyway. plenty of sockets to iron if you can be bothered.
There was 24 hour hot water and the room was spotless. It isn't cleaned every day and the sheets and towels aren't changed every day but hey ho. The studio colour scheme is greens and creams and basic so don't look for 5 star accommodation. Everything else makes up for the decor.
There are a few blocks with various sized apartments and balconies, it looked as if we had the best one on our level. Some didn't get the sun till later in the day and were a wee bit smaller.
The staff at reception are great. There is always someone there to help you. They are very professional and efficient (no we're not on any commission ha ha).
There is a spa, hammam, gym, and pool inside if the weather is rubbish.
LOCATION: 5 *****These apartment/studios are at the beach. You just have to walk across a paved square area and you are on the most smashing wide beach. Spotless. You can hire sunloungers and parasols but they range from Euros 10-12.50 a day so this can add up. A lot of people were buying parasols in the wee supermarkets at 7 euros and lying on the beach. It just depends what you want. The beach has toilets as well.
Bars, restuarant, taxis and nightlife its all here. You don't need to venture far but there are local buses and taxis if you want to go to the new part of albufiera, the strip. Ladies, don't bother with high heels, they'll kill your feet. Flip flops or crocks are best.
PRICES: beers for 1.80 euros and 2.00 euros for a large beer. Plenty of cocktails at 3-5 euros. You can get a meal on average for about 7-15 euros. We ate in a different place evey night and were never skint.
The supermarket across from the Turial park (to the right) has wine at 2.20 euros a bottle. it's ok. Large local beers 1.80 euros for a litre. Spirits not expensive either if you buy local brews.
You can walk from the right side of the beach to the harbour and it has a few wee bars etc. This is where the boat trips go from. If you walk the other direction on the beach this takes you to another small secluded beach on the other side of the auramar hotel. There are steps going from beach over the cliff and down onto the other one. Worth a scramble over. there is a wee bar there as well. Or if your not too fit you cna get off beach at auromar hotel and walk to the right on road and follow path to the next beach.
The nightclubs stop about 6.00 in the morning and the bars tend to stay open late as well.
would we use this apartment complex again yes. The prices for sudios and apartments seem to all be the same. The cost per day/week are shown in most apartments or studios. For us it was cheeper to buy in the uk, but maybe a deal could be arranged with the manager. cheers Enjoy if you go. IT IS HOT HOT HOT.
PS tex-mex across from turial park facing beach has the best cocktails.
A209 studio for 2 has good size balcony and suntrap (may 2012). not much noise from bars and it was...
