Don't believe what others have written as this is a lovely place to stop and had a wonderful time at these apartments last year. I had heard about the building work before going and when got there was put at the back where this was taking place. I also didn't hear much noise from the building work and this didn't cause any distruption to us. This is also quite close to the strip which is very good and also all the restaurants and bars. There is also a nice karoake bar called coyote and the staff in this bar are very pleasant and friendly. The apartments are nice and spacious and very clean and in general the whole place is nice and definately would consider going back there again.

Actually stayed from Feb 9 to Mar 23. Originally booked at the Perola but were moved at last minute to Forte da Oura. Apart from distance to the Modelo, absolutely nothing to complain about. Clean, very large apartment with a deck that would hold a party of 50 at least. Beautiful atrium & most helpful & friendly staff. Nice pool & nice amenities. Local bus fifty feet away, as well as a shuttle bus from the apartment. Just returned from a 2 week stay at the "Forte Da Oura Hotel".
(last 2 weeks of Jan. 08). It is a nice clean Hotel, the staff were
friendly. Because all the floors are ceramic tiles, and the rest of the structure is concrete, the accoustics are very bad, making the entire Hotel very noisy during any activity in the loby or bar.
Never got a decent sleep while there because the beds were very hard, but the main problem was the heavy plastic sheets over the mattresses.
Had a break-in and robery a few doors down while our friends were asleep. Hotel management did not care, nor did they do anything to ease the fears of the other guests.
The area is beautiful, but would not stay at this Hotel again.

Firstly, that building site! It should be done next year but try to reserve a front room if you can. Remember, at the travel agent it is just a request so cant be guaratneed.

If you get the back, its not too bad now, its quiter and cleaner than it has been. The front rooms have better views and i would personally opt for the garden views.

The restaraunt is good if you havent pre booked meals but theres plenty of choice in the resort. The bar is small but has the friendly paulo running the bar. WARNING-Entertainment in the evenings will be loud due to the layout of the hotel.

The pool is a no go in the summer. Not enough sunbeds and towels on beds are a common problem. Sneak across the road to the club praia da oura hotel instead. Its never policed by hotle staff and has more facilities on offer.

overall, its location and convinience are what sells and makes the hotel, but dont expect 4 star standards
