“Would return!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Stayed here mid June for two weeks. The rooms are spotless and spacious although I had to let Reception know that our towels were not changed on the 4th day (I think by being tidy and hanging them up daily was misinterpreted as not needing them changed?). We had a second floor Apartment overlooking the garden and it suited us fine as it was lovely and cool due to not receiving any sunshine at all. The beds are hard but we are used to firm mattresses.
We ate a few times at the poolside Restaurant and the food was really lovely and tasty but a tad pricey compared to locally - think it cost around €33 for lunch for 3 of us but it was good.
Unfortunately there was no entertainment at night apart from music on a Wednesday evening when they had their BBQ. Suggestion for the hotel -might be a good idea to organise Water Polo/Tennis/darts etc.or perhaps buy a Table Tennis table for the young teens (esp boys!) and organise mini tournaments during the day to keep them occupied.
I was disappointed in the monitoring of the reservation of sun loungers by those that didn't appear until late afternoon (usual saga), it was only apparent when a certain member of staff was on duty. Also I never saw the sun loungers or the pool area being hosed down at the end of the day, although the bar staff did clean up, pick up everyone's rubbish that was left behind and tidied the whole area.
The free Wifi is hit and miss in Reception but you can pay for wifi in your room for a nominal fee!
Overall the Hotel is perfectly suited to families with older teenagers and the location is good also for those heading to the 'Strip'. I definitely would not have chosen this hotel if our children were much younger due to lack of entertainment for them during the day.
Finally I have to say the Staff on Reception were lovely, (hi Jonathan) and the cleaning staff too - especially the 'wee' happy one that constantly smiled.

Had some doubts following previous reviews, but these were unfounded. Had a great week relaxing here. Meals were a bit repetitive but hotel and facility were ok. Will be going back next year. Great supermarket just around the corner and small bar right outside the hotel, short walk to the strip for more bars and restaurants.

,We read some worrying reports about this hotel after booking but had no problems at all. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, and had all the equipment we needed. We experienced no noise problems and found the staff courteous and attentive. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of The Strip as well as other, more up-market restaurants. Bus stops are located just outside the hotel gates as is a taxi-rank. Overall, a well located and comfortable base for a holiday in the Algarve.

First time in Portugal and loved every minute. Pool area was sufficient and only struggled to get a sunbed once.. Staff were very helpful although at some points quite rude. Cleaners were very good also!

Location is superb! 2 minute walk from the strip (fast walker) and 5 minute taxi to the Old Town which is a must visit! Beach is also 5 minutes away via a surprisingly steep hill.

Reception WiFi was ok at times however at certain times of the day was just inaccessible so paid to get the WiFi in our rooms. this worked great for the first 2 days however was awful for the remainder of the holiday.. Had a back facing room which was nice and quiet however the other part of our group had a sea facing balcony on the top floor and it was superb!

Noise is a little problem at night with people slamming doors and ringing that annoying doorbell!

All in all enjoyed my stay and would definately visit again!

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet go for a rear facing room, Sea facing rooms are superb but balconies can...

Stayed here for 8 nights as a family of 3 adults and 16 year old twin boys. Was very worried before we arrived after having read the recent reviews, should not have worried!! Had a really lovely stay. Allocated room 408 and it was a fantastic room, had a pool and sea view. Had a large balcony with table and four chairs plus two sun loungers, it was huge and got the sun all day. The apartment itself was very spacious. The bedroom had 2 double wardrobes, air conditioning and a tv. The living room area had 2 sofa beds and 2 pull out beds and it also has a television with good English channels, was able to watch Wimbledon. No issue with noise at all and sleep was never disturbed. Pool bar/snack bar over priced and bar in hotel was never open. Supermarket Intermarche just around the corner, turn left out of hotel and past Rock line Bar. You can get everything you need for any cooking you might was to do. Fresh bread baked all day, bottles of Super bock 68 cents and lovely bottles of Rose wine for 1 euro 99. It also has a cash machine. Try Agapito and Rania's restaurants close by. Best thing about this hotel is the location. Five minutes to Oura beach, five minutes from strip and Old Town 20 minute walk away. Bus stop and taxi rank outside hotel for those who don't want to walk. Overall had a great stay at this hotel and would have no hesitation in returning or recommending to others.

Room Tip: Top floor apartments are the largest as they accommodate as family of 5 or 6, worth paying extra or...

Stayed for 11 nights, with family of 6. We were very anxious from reading the reviews. The hotel staff on arrival were friendly and efficient. Room safe €15 per week and €15 deposit. the room was very good great size and good air con. I thought it should have a kettle and toaster but we did eat in and cook in the apartment which was fine. CBBB and BBC and ITV for English viewing. The pool is a fine size but not enough sun lounger and the umbrellas did go flying a few times so the hotel should look at securing the umbrellas to the stands. The bar were more interested in profit than controlling some 30 somethings that were a bit too loud one day but reception did sort them after speaking to them. The food was good there but the ice creams were expensive. I can see how a small group if not controlled could ruin your holiday, the hotel should not leave six teenagers stay next to families, we had a incident at 5 am with ringing of door bells which did upset our children. the night porter was not effective enough for this. Overall the hotel design allows for little noise in reception area to travel over the whole hotel. With a little effort from management the hotel could be very good but as is it if a fine spot. The beach was about a 8 min walk and I would say the beach in the old town is better but the oura beach was fine but I though the water was cloudy enough and lots of seaweed on the north end. Sol bar opposite was good, Netos restaurant next door was good,

Room Tip: As far from Reception as possible to avoid any noise

I stayed at this property from Thursday 4th - Monday 8th July and was apprehensive having read some less than favourable reviews. I have to deduce that those people must have stayed somewhere else?? Check in was warm and seamless. Reception were always on hand to provide restaurant recommendations, book taxis, organise excursions and give us directions.

Parts of the hotel are a little dated but it was spotlessly clean and the maids who changed our towels and refreshed our room were thorough and helpful. The hotel is in an ideal location, 5 mins from the beach and the strip and a 7-8 minute taxi trip from the old town, We were allocated a room facing the back of the hotel (205) and if you have any concerns about noise I'd ask for one of these rooms as we didnt hear a thing. I suspect the rooms overlooking the pool are noisier but only during the day.

The pool beds did always appear to be reserved but there is a huge expanse of lawn at the other side of the hotel which was perfectly calm and lovely - we spent most afternoons there and It was a welcome break from the noise of the pool anyway.

For the price we paid, we thought it represented great value and wouldnt hesitate to return.
