“June 2014 - Lovely Apartments”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2014

We travelled here on the 4th June for a week as a couple in our mid 30s. We booked a studio apartment with Jet 2. We arrived at the apartments and were given Room 18 N.
Check in was quick, and the staff was pleasant enough. Had to pay 20 euros for the keys, but got this back at the end of the stay. We were given a map of what block we were in, and the guy on the reception also advised of us where the nearest supermarket and taxi stands were, and how to get to the beach.
We then went to the room. Well!! From expecting a studio, we ended up with a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the private pool and a view of the sea!!
Well impressed!! (thought they made a mistake!!) It was lovely and clean, very spacious, and had 2 balconies!! The kitchen had all we needed for our stay - toaster, kettle, pans etc for making light meals and breakfast. Had an old little tv, but during the week they changed it to a big flat screen tv which they were doing for all rooms as far as i could tell. Like other reviews the beds were quite hard, but still managed to get sleep.
The maids cleaned every day, and came any time between 10am and 6pm. We had clean towels every other day, and clean bedding once which was good. They did a fab job cleaning.
There are 2 pools, and in our block (block 18 - which i think is the best out of them) was very quiet and we always got a lounger, but the other pool where the snack bar is always looked busy so we never ventured to it.
The pool was cold but it was lovely to cool down when hot!! The pool was cleaned every day ( i saw the maintenance guy every morning while i was sitting at the balcony)
The beach is about 5 mins walk down some steps and it can be a struggle if walking back in the heat but its not that bad!!
The area where the apartments are great, a few bars and some lovely restaurants. Neto and Carpe Diem(we went back there twice) were both lovely. There is a lovely lady who serves you in Carpe Diem who is english, and always chatty and makes u feel welcome. Prices are all reasonable. Strip is about 15 mins walk away and just before it there's another restaurant called sizzling stone...lovely steak -its a must!!! We only went to the old town once, and got a taxi there and back which cost about 6 euros each way, would have gone more if it were nearer, it looked like a good half hour walk or so. Lovely place to chill had have a few cocktails.
I would go back to the old town more, but the times we ventured to the strip it was full of hen/stag parties, so it bit noisy and hectic for us.
The only thing that annoyed us was the People in the apartments next door (i think they were German) Played the same songs every night, and slamming doors, banging walls, buzzing everyone's doors and loud music from about 10pm till about 5 in the morning, they also kept setting of the fire alarms, i felt sorry for the family's in the same block with little children. One night security came and told them the police would be called if they didn't quieten down. They left the next morning. There was a hen party below us and they were quiet and didn't hear a peep out of them.
Flew with jet 2 and had transfers with them also, all went well and only delayed for 2 hours going. Transfer from Faro was good, but if not a bit long.
My tip is if your going, try and ask for block 18 as its got its own little pool and nearest the beach.

Room Tip: Ask for block 18!!! Facing the pool.. Best views

Had a great time at these apartment's, we stayed in a two bed one,, which was on the top floor and our view was looking out to the sea, brilliant. Very quite and clean, the only thing the pool area was not cleaned down at night and they can do with some chairs for people to sit at. Staff very nice and deal with your very quickly, would go back. Great for families.

A group of 6 of us (some family, some friends aged 24-62) booked a 3 bedroom apartment here for our first trip to Portugal. I was expecting the accommodation to be really basic which I didn't really mind as we didn't spend a lot of money and we weren't planning to be indoors for long.

Well I could not have been more pleasantly surprised! We had a massive corner apartment with 3 separate balconies (well terraces, as we were on the ground floor) The place was really clean, the kitchen looked brand new and had more than we needed, kettle, coffee maker, iron, hoover etc. There was a twin bedroom, a double bedroom with ensuite shower-room, a single room with a pull-out extra single bed, and there were 2 sofa-beds in the living room, so it could have slept 8 comfortably.

There were plenty of towels and cleaners came once during the week to give us some more for our extra guests. There were plenty of TV channels (not that we watched much) and all rooms had blackout doors/windows so the place could be as dark or as bright as you want in the mornings (which is amazing if you like to sleep in total darkness)

Each bedroom had an amazing amount of storage (more than I have at home!) and the bathrooms were clean and looked brand new.
I honestly can't find a single negative thing to say about the place, though I think we got very lucky with the particular apartment we were put in, since there was a big group of us.

The pools were of a decent size considering how many rooms there are in the complex, and the pool bar and restaurant was reasonbly priced with delicious burgers. The apartments themselves are in a great area, walking distance from the old and new towns and loads of local bars and restaurants.

If I'm ever in Albufeira again I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: corner apartments have several balconies, though these may only available to those booking 3-bedroom...

Brilliant! Our apartment was amazing!I can't rave about it enough.Beautiful, massive and it had everything we needed and more!Only thing missing was a kettle (which was odd) but hardly worth mentioning.
Really relaxed pool area, nice backround music but not intrusive. The bouncy castle was a brilliant extra! It gave the kids a break from the pool (and the parents) all within a safe enclosed area.
Food in the pool bar was excellent!A simple menu but enough to suit most tastes.Salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, pizza and a kids menu all of which was cooked to order and was really fresh (the best I have ever eaten in a pool bar restaurant)Also the prices were great!
Perfect for a family holiday and for couples(which is rarely the case).
The staff were very friendly, chatty and helpful.
We were very pleased and will most certainly be returning next Summer.

Room Tip: A major problem was getting a taxi!!!!We waited outside the hotel one evening for almost an hour and...

We are a family with a 16 and 14 year old boys. We were in block 14 on the ground floor . we had no balcony or terrace , one wardrobe for storage with about 10 hangers to put our clothes in. we had no where to hang wet towels apart from over the top of the doors. Our apartment has you can imagine looked like a launderette , with 4 beach towels and swimwear hanging daily from every door but hey oh we got on with it . Maid service is excellent , rooms are very clean.
Our first 7 days into the holiday wasn't too bad , but towards the end when new arrivals were arriving without children ,the noise levels became unbearable , with partying going on above us till the early hours of the morning . Albuferia is a lovely place and we will be going back next year but not to these apartments . Avoid block 14 if you are going

We are a family with 3 and 1 year old girls. We had the best apartment in the best block, Block 18 Apartment L. It has a poolside view, balcony off the living room and another off the main bedroom. The pools are fantastic for kids and grownups alike. Block 18 has its own pool and kiddie pool, I don’t think the other blocks have that. The shared pool area, shared with the other blocks, is a great place for the kids to hang out with other kids. There is a big pool and two kiddie pools. The beach, which is really lovely, is only a walk away and has lovely restaurants along it. It is located really close to all the amenities in New Albufeira. Old town is really nice and a great evening out with loads of fine restaurants, bars and live entertainment. The road train from the main strip is the way to get there and fits buggies and all.
We really liked the complex. It’s not a huge pyramid shaped apartment block with balconies, it several smaller blocks of apartments which have circa 16 apartments each. The buildings are really nicely finished from the outside and pretty well finished off on the inside. The staff are lovely and helpful. Our place was cleaned each day and towels changed at least twice in the week. The beds were a bit on the hard side though. The people this place attracts are the type of people you enjoy being around and no lager louts even though we were there during the start of the soccer world cup. It's mainly couples and families with kids from new born to 18.
Even though the pool areas are really well finished off and maintained to an excellent standard the kids play area was pretty small, a set of swings and a slide, but we didn't spend much time there, we were in the pools all the time. We bought a blow up dolphin and they stored it for us every night and when the pool attendant saw us coming they went and got it for us, that's pretty decent. The lounger mattresses are 2euro for the day and if you go and come back the pool attendant recognises you and brings them back out without a double charge, class job. The poolside restaurant has a basic menu but the food is spot on and well-priced.
We didn’t like the strip in New Albufeira, but that’s just us. There are lovely restaurants around and about and we did not get one dodgy meal. Service is great everywhere and accommodating the kids was no hassle.
We gave a day at Zoomarine and that was class. Highly recommended and if the kids are big enough for the slides you’re sorted.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and really felt that we got value for money.

Room Tip: Block 18 is the best one. We had first floor Apartment L. 2 poolside balconies. There's a lift...

Just back from a week at the apartments. Extremely clean with all the facilities needed to have a great self catering holiday. Maid service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. The only recommendation I would make is the need for somewhere on the balcony to hang wet towels but this is only a minor point. Location was great, close enough to walk to local shops, bars and restaurants but quiet at night for a good nights sleep. We would definitely recommend this property.

Room Tip: Bring clothes pegs.
