“Absolutely fine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

We booked this last minute three weeks before departure. Stayed 7th - 14th July 2013. The apartment was absolutely fine. Very clean and cleaned every day we were there for the week. Sheets changed mid-week and clean towels every second day. Excellent kitchen with top range Zanussi appliances. Didn't use them much but they were there! We had breakfast every morning at the pool snack bar and it was good. Basic fruit, cheese, cooked items all nicely presented and the staff were lovely as well. Plenty to do in the local area and also just a 30 minute walk into Old Town Albufeira. We got the local bus (one euro 40 cents) into Centro and quite often walked back later in the evening when it was cooler - a nice way of walking off the evening meal! I would certainly go back to these apartments. The supermarket was five minutes away around the corner which made stocking up the fridge very easy. A wonderfully relaxed and laid back area.

we stayed for a week in a two bedroomed apartment, it was great, very spacious rooms, all mod cons, clean, lovely long balcony which caught the sun in an afternoon. well placed for eating out, but was on main road and noisy with night clubbers going back between 2am and 5am. The beds were not comfortable so sleep deprived from that too! not situated near a pool or restaurant for breakfast, only had twice in the week, pool area not great, not half enough sunbeds, would I come back, yes to Portugal but a different hotel!!! the sun was lovely.

we stayed end of june 2013 for a week, in block 12.The apartments are very clean and are cleaned daily.this block is very close to the pool but a limited number of sunbeds as usual, you have to hire the mattress never bothered so dont know how much. A nice bar which serves snacks and drinks from 10.00 to 18.00. These apartments are in a nice area with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.

Many positives for this resort, however can only give 3 stars as I feel the apartments let the place down. Exterior looks great but the interior needs work. They are dated and need improvement. Firstly the beds are rock hard. Wokw up with stiff back numerous times and the pillows are cheap with no quality. Small TV in kitchen with no suitable chairs to relax. No cleaning of floors and tables at any time during the week. Clean Towels left in bidet - careless. Found Mosquito on floor also.
Very loud when banging doors at night and early morning
Also, payment for safe in apartment-why??
No balcony either-No place to sunbathe when at apartment

Pool and sun bathing are well kept. Although, not enough of sunbeds. Staff friendly and food in snack bar very good and well priced.

Good location and beach / strip / old town nearby.

Room Tip: Bring your own mattress

I stayed at Quinta Pedra dos Bicos for a stag do with 7 mates in May 2013.

We had 2 very spacious and clean rooms with all the amenities you would expect from a self catering apartment in a modern block.

The apartments are well situated with some really good restaurants close by, a 5 minute walk to the strip or a 10 minute taxi ride to the old town.

The pools were all clean and the drinks were cheap but there weren't many sun loungers.

The breakfast was really good and the staff friendly and helpful.

The beds could have been more comfortable but I think they're as good as you're going to get in a 4 * self catering apartment.

All in all great value for money and highly recommended especially for a stag or hen party.

We have just got back from a weeks stay at Quinta dos Bicos, we chose the apartments rather than the hotel, and we were very surprised by the apartment. Spacious two bedrooms modern with 1 balcony and two sets or french doors that open inwards safe for young children, all with pool views. Block 18 has an adult pool and a childrens pool, and is only used by the occupants of block 18 the pool was never full or crowded, the only problem was that there is only 19 sun loungers so on some days ther were no spare ones, there is grass around the pool to ly on but not recommended. Hotel guest tend to stay by the main hotel larger pool even though they can get access to block 18's pool. I have read a few comments about the steps to the beach being steep and lots of them, our three year old had no problem either way, so not as bad as some reviews mention. Out of the block turn right steps to the beech so ideal for beech lovers also. The loaction is very good 10 min walk to the strip and 45 mins walk to the old town. We have stayed in Abuferia 5 times and this is the best accomadation we have had, Compared to the other 4 star hotels and apartments. All in all we would return but would want the same block 18 Apartment M, which was fantastic. Would i recommend ? Definitley!

Room Tip: Block 18 1st and 2nd floors have the best apartments, ask for pool views.

Fantastic stay in a two-bed apartment in Pedra dos Bicos; could be closer to the town but it was lovely and quiet and the apartments were brilliant.

Stayed at Quinta Pedra dos Bicos for 10 nights early June 2013 with my partner. We HAD wanted to stay somewhere else actually, but were messed about a bit by Jet 2 and ended up switching to find a cheaper deal. This was not much cheaper, and all they had left were 2 bedroom apartments despite the fact there were just us as a couple, so I was annoyed before we left about the price etc.

We arrived at midday and were surprised to be let in straight away, and all my annoyances over the money went out the window - I definitely think it was well spent! The apartment was very new looking, nicely decorated interior with no scuffs or shabbyness, it was fresh and spacious. 2 big bedrooms and a kitchen/living room. We had 2 balconies, both with pool and sea views, which we hadn't requested. Our apartment block (18) was nearest the beach and had its own pool just for our block, so it was never busy, crowded or too noisy. The other people staying there were mostly families and couples, no noise or loud music, despite the corridors all being marble and doors slam easily.

People have said it's not 4*, I haven't stayed in very many places so I couldn't say, but I think people can be a bit picky. It was a really nice place. The beds are a bit hard, and the sofa was not comfortable at all, but I didn't need a soft bed to sleep after days in the sun! The kitchen was great, no oven but everything else, electric hobs a bit trying but I was impressed with the amount of kitchen utensils provided, including a sieve and a lemon juicer..! Microwave, toaster, kettle, hand blender and even a coffee maker were all provided. TV did not have any English channels, most were in German actually.. The bathroom was lovely, with a powerful shower over the bath, fresh towels daily and a hairdryer provided.

We had cause to call a repairman when our television wouldn't turn on at first, but they fixed it really quickly, and when we needed an iron they sent someone over with it straight away. The women at the reception could be a little stony and one even smirked at me when I didn't know what she meant which might have upset a more sensitive character, but it's not like they're a big part of the holiday experience and they helped us all the same.

The apartments are located a 5 minute walk from the strip, 50 minute walk to the town (we walked it on our first day). After walking in we got a bus after that - buses run from the main road outside the hotel every 30mins and we found them very reliable and cheap (1 euro 40 when we were there each way). There's some great restaurants in the vicinity, we really enjoyed the Happy House Chinese buffet.

Overall an excellent stay, I loved our apartment because I felt we got a really good block and room; I'd be cautious booking again in case we got a room which didn't overlook the pool as I don't think it would be as nice sitting out on the balcony, but I'd definitely want to stay there again, so don't hesitate in booking! :)

Room Tip: Try asking for a room in an apartment that has its own pool; we loved the convenience and I imagine...
