“Wow What a Place 5 star defo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We went to Portugal as our summer holiday in Morroco was spoilt and a massive dissapointment unlike this hotel & spa,First things first was when we walked in to the hotel it was a WOW first impressions was very good ! When we met the staff from start to finish the were excellent in every way Ricardo and Nelson and Co are so good and a credit to the resort that we are definately going back pronto.
The Hotel is in a superb location very quiet and peacefull in the grounds with plenty pools and sunbeds and the views are spectacular the Spa which costs 15 euros we thought was a little strange to have to pay untill Lorraine went in and said what was involved in the salt pool and Spa
worth every penny.
We stayed in a studio and we had everything there that was needed and cleaned everyday spotless as the whole place was ,In the studio there was two tv,s a king size bed fridge hob microwave hair dryer shower bath and loads of cupboard space plus a free safe there is also a free shuttle bus .
We went over from 20th November for a week and the Hotel and staff were brilliant to us as anyone we spoke to said how good it had been and I would recommend .

Dear Guest,

We really appreciated your review.

It was very gratifying for us to learn that after a disappointing summer holiday in another Hotel, you were able to enjoy a perfect break at our Resort and that all your expectations, in particular the ones about our Thalasso Thermal Circuit, were even exceeded.

Thank you so much for your kind comments, especially the ones about Ricardo, Nelson and the rest of the team. We know how hard they try to make our guests' stays as enjoyable and special as possible and it is really rewarding that these efforts are recognised and so much appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you again to the Grande Real Santa Eulália Resort & Hotel Spa and assure you that we will do our utmost to make your next stay as or even more enjoyable than the first one.

Kind regards

Booked a four night at this five star resort and spa. Must admit the views from our sea facing suite were mesmerising. Its a huge property and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Spa is great with its heated seawater pool, a sauna and steam room besides treatments. Great place..will come again.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Gorgeous, stunning beach, so private and secure. The breakfast every day was delicious and so huge - kept us going all day. Was really handy that they had a free shuttle service to the Old Town and the Strip, the only downside is the time of year we went (October) they didn't run that regularly and it was only a small bus, there was no standing room, so if it was full it was tough luck. Although the walk to the Strip from the hotel is only about 15 minutes so we walked most days anyway.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. You can book any excursions through the hotel but it's much cheaper to book them down town in the travel shops.
Loved the chocolates by the bed every morning, only downside was the mattress was quite firm but really if that's the only complaint we're not doing too bad!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view if possible, we were facing the front - the car park - and it wasn...

We stayed for 5 days in the villas in mid November 2012 with half board and the hotel was great. B 414 Studio Room was spacious, quiet and nice balcony and WiFi everywhere. Breakfast a total highlight, such a wide range of tasty food which set us up for the day. We used the free mini bus to get to old town and the strip, worth doing. Diner was a bit stilted, very quiet but food good - we juggled to hit 38 Euro's per person vouchers, and paid drink/wine on top. Hotel is on the beach with a coffee/snack place nearby too. 15 mins walk left up the road to supermarket for basics. Can't fault the place overall, and Albufeira old town is packed with restaurants and shops for browsing plus a nice beach and rocky cliffs! Spa is a bit expensive, €17 for one hour plus €2 for mandatory cap. We also did full body massage half price €77 for 2 people, which was good but over quite quickly and in separate private rooms. (promotion that day). Overall, a fine place. Portugal is great.

Room Tip: Make sure you are happy with your location, reception happy to change your room.

Just returned from 1 week stay had a lovely sea view room.
The location is 5 * however I feel the rooms need updating, did not like the dirty carpet in room and bathroom dated (shower curtain & shower did not stay in place had to hold while showering) and furniture is worn & dated. Needs a refresh!
we got a great deal on travel republic with breakfast.
Be careful with the mini bar the water in there is not complimentary! No welcome drink on arrival.
Breakfast is lovely great choice of food & drink and caters for small children too.
Decking by pool is good for non slip however broken in places & needs fixing ASAP.
Beach is nice but could do with ramp as well as steps down as hard to manage with a buggy we used to drive down & park in car park next to beach which was easier.
Beach/ pool towels complimentary for the stay along with robes & slippers in room which I liked.
Weather was nice for our stay rained once during the night, used heated outdoor pool several times, but feel it could have been a little warmer.

What a Fabulous hotel !
Overlooking a gorgeous bay the view is just stunning!
We stayed in the hotel but there is also villas and apartments to choose from depending on your circumstances.
The reception is Lovely a real welcome to any traveller.
The rooms are very will equipt and modern .
They have a great kids club .
The restaurants are also good but pricey as you expect in a hotel , we chose to eat out most of the time.
The pool área. Is devine agaín because of the view.
We chose easy jet flights very good actually havent uses them before.
We chose yellow fishtransfers very good and easy to find in the airport all yellow t shirts  and very friendly welcome with a few of the drivers not just ours chatting with us and making  a fuss of the kids .cars with free Wi Fi and a free bottle of red wine because we booked a return transfer
This hotel fitted all our requirements , a bit of luxury but pratical will  located with faciliteis for the kids..

Stayed here in November as a celebration but have been here twice before. Very nicely decorated and kept exceptionally clean. Only had bed and breakfast as was far cheaper to go into either the "strip" or the old town to eat. Our room on the third floor had a seaview which was extremely quiet apart from the crashing of the waves. Tastefully decorated, king size bed which was (as is usual in most 4/5* hotels) bit too firm. Bathroom was very nice indeed and kept exceptionally clean. Plenty of wardrobe space with enough hangers which makes a pleasant change. Small fridge and non-flatscreen tv. Were a bit worried about our room being near the lift as it makes a strange noise when it opens (the lift that is) but never heard anything at night so no problem. The staff were very helpful on reception and the guys in the bar were very pleasant and looked after you well. There is a very nice beach bar where they offer a pretty good selection of snacks, meals, ice creams and drinks. Beautiful to sit there of a lunchtime on a sunny day, very relaxing. Excellent selection of food for breakfast, could'nt fault that at all, and everything was nicely cooked. There also was a good selection of pastries and rolls and other items too numerous to mention. A waiter or waitress came to your table to offer tea or coffee but you could help yourself to other drinks if you wanted. There was also sparkling wine in an ice bucket if you preferred something alcoholic! We used the courtesy bus quite a lot to get into the old town of an evening but the last bus from the hotel leaves at 6.20pm which, although a bit early, saves you a taxi fare. We always left some coins for the driver, as did other guests. The bus stopped off at both the new town "The Strip" and the old town. Very easy to get a taxi back in the evening from wherever and the fares ranged from about 4 to 6 euros - works out cheaper than eating at the hotel! Quite costly to drink at the hotel bar. Some days the weather was so bad we could'nt get out and cost us a fortune to stay in. Every time we have stayed at this hotel there has been some sort of conference being held by firms in Portugal. You may therefore notice quite a few people in suits walking around which might appear to be a bit disconcerting but was really no problem at all - we just dressed casually as did other people. Quite a few of the larger hotels like this have conferences, even in the summer. Very quiet in the evening apart from a singer on Saturday and Sunday nights in the bar area which we felt was totally unnecessary especially as there were only a few couples sitting down, all a bit embarrassing really. This is a spa hotel and the facilities were excellent but again expensive and we were offered a 40 euros reduction on any treatments over 85 euros. A lot of people used the spa.
