The beaches at Sao Rafael are beautiful, especially off season, but suspect they may get rather crowded in height of summer, especially at high tide, as they are rather small. Very rocky, so swimming only with care, especially when the sea is choppy, and there is quite a lot of seaweed. Life guards are on beaches, plenty of parking nearby. Sun loungers available to rent for a fee.
