“Quiet residence”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This year we spent our family mini vacation here, in beautiful Algarve. The apartment was spacious and clean but the interior needed some upgrade. It would be nicer to have a flat screen TV and internet access but at that time they were in between providers.
We enjoyed the nice, warm water in the swimming pool and used it more often than we swam in the cold ocean.
It would be better if the cafe at the pool opened earlier than 10 AM, then we could have had our morning coffee there. However, the bar tender seemed to care more about selling alcoholic drinks later in the day than ensuring that the hotel guests had their morning coffee at the pool cafe/bar.
Evenings were quiet and peaceful and the beds were comfortable.
Anyway, you don't go to Algarve to stay in your hotel room, but to explore the beautiful coastline and the local restaurants and cafes.
We liked the most the cafe and the service at the supermarket Apolonia. They also carry a lot of foods typical for the UK that you won't find in your local Portuguese grocery store.
I recommend this property to the travelers on a budget with a car. Beach and supermarkets are too far to walk there under the hot Portuguese sun.
I would go back to this part of Algarve but probably book a hotel on the beach. The sunsets are amazing and a must-see!Have fun, fellow travelers!

Nice and quiet enclosure. A good base for excursions on plenty of beaches (car needed) or other locations in south of Portugal.

Available fully furnished kitchen, balcony, on site parking (free!)
Professional and courteous staff (e.g. at the reception).

Rooms and bathroom were quite clean. However, the balcony was probably never cleaned during the full stay. Washing machine availability in the apartment was advertised in booking.com, but mismatching the real set-up. Laundry is available (free) but centralized.

Room Tip: Upstairs apartment for extra privacy and beautiful view on the surroundings, including sea.

We enjoyed our stay here. There are several positive points that are worth mentioning.
The professional and friendliness of employees, special thanks to Mr.Manuel.
The location of the apartment, away from the entrance, with a great view and very quiet.
The well equipped kitchen with all necessary utensils, and for my surprise, in the rear of the apartments we have a barbecue grill.
The surrounding areas are very nice and clean. The playground is great for children.
Beautifully kept gardens and the pool also very clean.
We'll be back for sure.

Room Tip: You need a car to make a 5 minutes travel to the beach.

Year three at the Parque Monte Verde see's no change. The relatively small and very personal complex is a joy with excellent maintenance and available facilities. Manuel was on hand once again to offer that very personal touch and to make sure that our stay was an enjoyable experience.
Since Parque Monte Verde severed it's links with Thomas Cook the holiday experience has not suffered in any way. I do however feel that the booking process leaves a little to be desired. Miguel appears to be a little too laid back for my liking and for that reason I now have Manuels mobile number if anyone wants it :-)
Overall a great place to stay and one that we will undoubtedly return to again and again.

Room Tip: One bed apartments are on the top and have a great balcony whilst two bed apartments are on the grou...

Simple, no-frills holiday apartments. Very clean and well kept, spacious apartments with good air conditioning, new mattresses and a very well equipped kitchen. Extremely nice personnel and a very beautiful swimming pool. It was possible to park the car right next to the apartment. The nearest beach is just a few minutes away by car, but the choice is limitless!. We had only one minor problem in the beginning with the remotely operated main gate, which had a mind of its own. The problem ended, when we found out we could open the gate using the pin-code. Otherwise. it has been an absolutely delightful experience. Thank you to Mr. Miguel and the staff!

We have stayed in these appartments for the last three years and we continue to return because they are really so lovely. On our last visit we took the whole family and stayed in the villa which was lovely. Manuel is just so helpful. Portugal is my favorite holiday destination abroad. We are going again this year in October as the climate is just perfect for us, not to hot but pleasantly warm. If anyone does decide to stay in this area i would suggest that if you want to leave the complex then a car is needed. If you don`t hire a car there are restaurants in walking distance and you would need to get taxis in to other parts. It has been mentioned in previous reviews that the beds are quite hard. Well they are harder than my own bed, but i think this is normally the case abroad that beds do tend to be alittle harder. I think that if you do need a softer bed then maybe go to a hotel. But for us this holiday is just perfect!!!!!!

this is our second time staying at the parque monte verde apartments, we enjoyed it so much last year that we decided that if we went back to the algarve this is where we wanted to stay. As with other reviewers some of the people in our party of 5 plus two kids, felt that the beds were hard. Good points, great location away from the town but still with some fantastic restaurants near, yes if you stay here its a good idea to hire a car. the grounds are immaculate and the pool area is never too busy, no problem with sun loungers. This time round there was only us and another family staying at the apartments so most days we had the pool to ourselves. Both Manuel the care taker and Manuel who works at the snack bar are very attentive and good with the kids, they couldnt do enough for us. We requested two cots which were in the room when we arrived. We stayed in one of the two bedroom apartments which has not had its bathroom upgraded, its looking a bit tired but didnt detract from our stay.
if you are looking for reasonably priced, clean, spacious apartments in a quiet location this is the place to stay.
