“Clean, Nice & Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

This is a nice apartment complex. It's equidistant from the Albufeira Old town and the new strip in the other direction. About 10-15 min walk to either. The apartments were very clean, good basic facilities and had a very large balcony. Pool room views are best but that's the same for all places. The staff were friendly and helpful on everything. The bar food was good for the price for day time snacks etc. The pool area is nice and a good poolside bar. The place would be best for couples and families. There are 2 good supermarkets on your doorstep. There is a nice 'local' sports bar across the road.

All in all it's a good place if this is the area you want to stay in.

Stayed in these apartments in June for 11 nights, very clean the whole place is spotless, the staff were very nice and could not do enough for you, bar restaurant staff so nice especially John this man is a true professional and always aiming to please!! Don't expect to get a taxi from reception as u will be told no go to taxi rank, even though we asked about this the day before and told yes by the lovely Helen, knowing we had to get to a wedding!! Otherwise enjoyed our stay here!!!!!

As we could not get our regular hotel in this area i had a look at the reviews and this one looked worth a try, im glad we did , this is the perfect example of an older Hotel still managing with a little TLC to stay on the higher class bracket, clean and bright , nice large terrace restaurant /bar with a pool bar also, plenty pool beds with no fuss, staff very nice, and right in centre of new town , close to eveything , old town 5 mins walk , strip 15 mins walk , on main bus route for trips could not be better for us , will go back, i suppose if you look long enough you may find fault , but it eluded us

We stayed in The Paladim for our first family holiday summer 2014 and we were not disappointed. We were very happy with the location of the aparments as it was half way between the old and new town (In the middle). We only every went to the old for our evening out as the new town seem to be for the younger more nighloving people and not for our young family of 6 & 4. The apartments were lovely and clean and the rooms were cleaned everyday bar the 2nd day of your stay. We requested a pool view with a higher floor as was suggested by trip advisor tips. We got it and have a slight view of the ocean so very happy. Saija and Isabella at reception couldn't have been nicer and were very helpful and friendly to speak with which made a big difference when asking for information. There is a big shopping centre next door with supermarket on ground floor which has everything and on the lower floor you have different food outlets and lots of lovely shops to buy from. The beach is a min walk thank god not too much of a hill back up as the children tire easily from the heat and taxi are very cheap from old town €4 one way watch out for the long queues later at night 10 onwards but they move fast. The pool area of the paladim was just perfect for our family and there was alot of other families with children of similar age so kids made great friends which made it it also had a pool bar for drinks and snack which was lovely. The food was good enough we only ate there on our first night as it was very very quiet. Lack of entertainment for children is a factor though. They could concentrate more on that i think. We used yellow fish transfers which were brilliant no worrying about collection times and were only €60 return from faro airport. Transfer time 30/40 mins. We also went to Zoomarine and Aqualand on our stay. Zoomarine was absoloutely brilliant and the childrens area and the rides were great fun the wave pool was great fun for the children. Aqualand was good too very good for younger children but it was a dull day so cold coming out of the water so it was a bit of a waste for us. We took food and drinks with us both days which reduced the costs. My only gripe was a group of younger men were staying and when at the pool didin't have any respect for the childrens inflatables (boats and tyres) which families purchased and they were using them and burst one or two of them. I did mention it to recepiton but the girl asked me did i say it to them which i didn't believe was my place but that was only one or two days. In all we had a brtilliant holiday and would have no problem returning to the paladim.

Room Tip: Request a higher floor room with a pool view our room was quiet wer had a corner room and had a slig...

The Paladim is a great place to stay, clean, spacious, good food, friendly staff and perfect for old and new town either by walking or taxi. Isabel was one of the nice, very helpful receptionists and Joana is the Queen of Mojitos - the best I've ever tasted! Very well equipped apartments, big balconies, good bathrooms with a bath as well as a shower. All round 10/10, will definitely go again!

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Paladim and it was wondeful! All the staff are so helpful and friendly, particularly Helen who is the lovely evening receptionist. The rooms are fully equipped with flat screen TV, fridge, toaster, kettle, aircon etc and are cleaned 6 days a week - the beds are very comfortable. We had no trouble finding a sunbed around the pool everyday and noticed that the pool area is cleaned thoroughly every morning (no seagulls). There is a lovely restaurant, bar, games room and pool bar and again the staff were so friendly and made great efforts to ensure that we were happy with everything. We had no trouble sleeping as the evening entertainment in the hotel bar stops at around midnight. These apartments are ideally located between the old town and the strip, with a taxi rank and a large supermarket a couple of minutes away. We did choose to spend most of our time in the old town which is a 10 minute walk away as we really did not like the 'Strip' area in the new town. A cab ride to the old town costs 3.90 Euros. The beach is glorious but we did find that you need to choose your restaurant/bar carefully as some can be extremely expensive. We paid almost 50 Euros for 2 pizzas and drinks! We loved these apartments and will be booking to revisit in September this year

Have stayed in this area 3 times before; Paraiso once and Brisa Sol twice. We like being close to Modelo and Pingo Doce and Old Town so decided to try Paladim. I e-mailed to ask for a high floor quiet room and got a lovely room on check in. All staff on reception and bar staff were very friendly and helpful, both of the karaoke hosts were good singers and charming . The weather was glorious while we were there (11-18 May) and we can't wait to visit this lovely hotel again. We went on 2 excursions booked at the ticket shop next to Paraiso which were great value for money; Historical Algarve and Lisbon, recommended . Great holiday, obrigado
