“Lovely apartment, great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

I just returned from a 9 day stay at the Paladim. The hotel is in a handy location next to 2 supermarkets and in easy walking distance of the old town. I had a lovely, well equipped apartment overlooking the pool. The room was spacious with a kitchenette and dining area, twin beds and easy chairs and coffee table and plenty of storage space. The reception staff were really helpful and always friendly. A really enjoyable stay and would certainly book here again

we stayed for a week 6th march 2014 .my husband myself and two friends all in our late 40s.
I can honestly say this hotel was lovely ,so clean and had everything we needed .the room we stayed in was overlooking the pool and the sun hit the balcony form 9ish it was there until aprox 3ish but was still able to catch the sun by the pool unti 5ish .the apartment was well equipped microwave .2 ring hob.kettle.toaster ect , dining table seating 4 and a sofa bed and two comfy chairs ,flat screen tv with a few English channels .the bedroom was perfect too loads of wardrobe space .dressing table.comfy beds .bathroom had a lovely powerful shower and the water always red hot . the bar area was modern but not massive imagine it be very busy in height of season.pool area very well kept pool clean but very cold this time of year.free wifi in bar and reception area. i would def stay here again .The supermarket next door is massive 3 floors if u go get a discount card if your there for 2 weeks it takes 5 days but some good cheep offers with it .not so many places open at this time to eat but only 10 mins from old town and new and the little train takes you to both .Just opposite hotel there is mc donalds kfc and a chinese .we also found a great bar near the worms called fat cats great place very nice hosts .nice food 3 courses plus a drink 8 euros cart go wrong all in all great place to stay.

Room Tip: we had 002 great room

Just back from a short stay, (4 nights) in the Paladim. Firstly, there seems to be a debate as to whether this is a 4 star hotel, having stayed in other 4 stars i would say probly not. However that said, everything about this hotel was excellent. The apartment were spotlessly clean and very spacious. The living room / kitchen area was large and had a kettle, toaster, microwave/grill, fridge and 2 ring electric hob, a dining table for 4 people and ample cutlery / crockery etc. the living room area had a bed setee 2 chairs a cofee table and a cabinet with the tv on it. Large bedroom with double/twin beds large wardrope chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. Good size bathroom with sink, wc, bidee, bath and over head shower. Perfect location for both old and new town. Plenty shops nearby. Every member of staff we spoke to, receptionists, bar staff, night porter were all pleaseant, helpful and always with a smile. The bar prices were very reasonable and although we onle ate once in the hotel there was quite a large menu and the food was good and also reasonably priced. In short, was this hotel value for monry - YES, would i consider going back next year - YES, did i enjoy this hotel and my stay - YES

Room Tip: best with a poolside view

HI just back home from a week in the Paladim, hotel it's self is not 4 star but is quite adequate, rooms are fine, and as said before a pool view is a must, the couple we traveled with had room no 01 which was supposed to be a pool view but all they saw was roof off the bar.
The staff are definitely 5 star, would I go back YES.

Room Tip: Pool view 3rd floor

Excellent small self catering hotel . The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant, nothing was a problem to them. Room and facilities nice and clean and well serviced. We really enjoyed the entertaining and instructive Portuguese cake baking event organised by a member of staff. Well located for both the old and new towns, good supermarkets nearby if self catering otherwise there is a goog choice of restaurants locally. Certainly a hotel to return to.

Spent a long weekend here in mid January, with some family members, we had a one bedroom apartment which was just great, plenty of room for four people, big living room/ bed room and a separate twin bedroom , bathroom and hall way ,kitchen had all necessary equipment, which suited our needs great.
Lovely pleasant smiling staff , rooms spotless clean , we had breakfast downstairs in the restaurant it cost 20 euro for four Irish breakfasts what a bargain. cooked by Francisco what a lovely friendly person. Hotel in a great position , between New and Old town. Mondelo shopping centre beside hotel , lovely Chinese restaurant on the corner , KFC across the road so no problem getting food. Weather was cold and very wet unfortunately, so we found the rooms quite cold as the only means of heating is via air - con system,
All in all a great stay and would certainly return .

We arrive back in this hotel in February, courtesy of being transferred by yellowfish transfers, who I would recommend for their high level of service and communications to there clients, again the hotel gave us what we requested with our room next to reception. The staff at reception always go out there way to help, this I noticed with the way they dealt with other guests, I have never came across such helpful staff in other hotels, well done to them.
I will certainly use this hotel again and again.
