just returned home from 2 week stay at brisa what can you say about this hotel that hasn't already been said amazing .truly that's all needs to be said.so for all those considering using this hotel go for it. however I would like to mention a certain resteraunt in the old town that doesn't get a lot of publicity that actually should be recognized as one of the best resteraunts in the old town.it is called the tunnel and can be found on the left up the stairs just before the tunnel the food is amazing at reasonable prices it is well worth a visit if you fancy a lovely meal with that personal touch.

good location lovely staff but definitly not 4 star. this aparthotel should be advertised as self catering appartments with a 2 star half board option, worst food ever for a supposed 4 star hotel. the room although large and spacious was at best a 3 star. albuferia old town really good something for everyone

Room Tip: go for a room with a pool view other wise you are overlooking the carpark or main street

Me and my girlfriend travelled to the Brisa Sol Hotel, Albufeira, on the 1st July, and stayed there for 11 nights. We initially checked Tripadvisor before booking, as we were torn between this hotel and the Playa Paraiso down the road, the playa hotel was slated on here, so we chose the Brisa Sol. We were not disappointed.

Well....where do i start? The Hotel itself is very nice! The rooms are big and spacious, we had a room with a view of the Town and it was fine. I was aware that people were mentioning to get a pool view room, but our view was fineand was perfect when watching the sun set. The rooms had air con provided so we never woke up hot, and the rooms had all the necessities - kettle, fridge, microwave, toaster etc. Maid service is daily, something that i was not used to. We found it annoying that the maids were knocking on our door at 9am every morning, especially if we wanted a lie in after a late night. We had to put the 'do not disturb' sign up to warn them off! It was great that the maids were so frequent, but was not really necessary as we were hardly in our room!

The pool area was very nice, the pool was massive! I was a bit disappointed that it wasnt deep at all, but it didnt seem to bother anyone else. Oh and unfortunately... Its true about the dreaded 9am Sunbed mad dash. Funnily enough, we saw this on youtube before we travelled, so it seems like a bit of a tradition!! Can i just note that this is NOT the Hotel's fault. There is a note attatched to the welcome documents that forbids reserving sunbeds, but obviously ignored. Ive never seen people run so fast! And its pretty pathetic considering some of these people would be gone most of the day?! This was annoying because me and my missus would be back from breakfast around half 10, and we would be lucky if we scraped together two sunbeds. Basically - Join the dash, or go to the beach...

The location of the Hotel is perhaps the best in Albufeira, all you have to do once you exit the hotel is - Turn left for old town or turn right for new town, its that simple, it was inbetween both where the walk to old town was about 5-10 mins and the new town was about 10 - 15 mins. We tried both towns and gotta say that old town is closer and much better. The new town had an 18-30s feel and tbh, i booked this holiday to escape that scene. Both towns had decent restaurants though and the cocktails in the bars were fantastic! The old Town was busier with a better atmosphere. it was much more cultural and always had plenty of entertainment, home to a wide variety of restaurants and bars.

The staff at the Brisa Sol are amazing and very friendly, They are more than wiling to go that extra mile to give you the best stay possible. We went to the hotel BBQ 3 days into our stay and it was such a good night, all you can eat and drink, with entertainment, for only 30 euros, well worth the money and the spread was fantastic! As for the staff, Look out for Marco, a member of the restaurant/pool bar team, he was a breath of fresh air! very funny and his customer service was 10/10. To be honest, all of the pool/bar staff were amazing, and we are very grateful you helped make our Holiday as fantasic as it was :-)

We went on a couple of excursions during our stay. We went Dolphin searching and to the popular Zoomarine park. I would definitely recommend zoomarine to anyone. There's enough for the whole family and its very entertaining and educational. We had a fantastic day and had our photo taken with dolphins. A very memorable day. You can book this at the hotel reception and the zoomarine coach picks you up at the bus stop right outside the hotel. easy. Travelling about is so easy here. The Taxi rank is also outside the hotel to the right, in front of the supermarket.

Its hard to pick out any real problems with the hotel. The only ones i could think of is - the facilities within the hotel - sauna, steam room, tennis, squash, minigolf etc, come at a cost. I never saw this mentioned in the hotel booking? It doesnt cost much, but i thought all that was included in the price? Oh and my other problem was on our check out date, out flight was in the evening, we were evicted at 11am. The lady on reception told me she would give us the key to a spare room so i could shower and change before heading to the airport. On the day, we were given nothing but the directions to a bathroom, which didnt have a shower? I went to the airport feeling dirty, which i wasnt pleased with.

Im rating this Hotel 4/5 as it is a 4 star, and deserves to be one. I was overall very happy with my stay and would recommend anyone to stay here and would jump at the chance to come back. Have a good Holiday!! :-)

Jeff Webster.

Excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff,in a great location equidistant from the strip or the old town, with the convenience of a supermarket next door for those on a self catering basis. Nice swimming pool, and poolside cafe and cake shop attached to hotel. Only slight issue are the people who queue to get to the pool for the 9am opening just to reserve beds and then do not appear for several hours later even though there are signs advising reserving sunbeds is not allowed, but the management will remove towels from beds if issue is raised at reception, which was fun to watch.

We have just come back from 2 great weeks in Albufeira and stayed at these apartments, we have stayed here a long time ago one new years holiday. I have to say we stayed in more or less the same part of the place on the side looking over the big supermarket. We could see the sea over the top of some houses so it was not that bad. We had a studio for two that had all the things we needed but the beds are rock hard, the place was kept nice and clean every day with nice clean towels every day as well, the public areas were spot less and cool, never used the restaurant so can not comment on this. Bar there was never many in as I think there prices were over the top even for a four star place, popped in one night did a few songs on the Karaoke but with a pint at four euros a go it was the only night. The pool area is nice and big with a good sized pool, there seems to be a big problem with the sun beds, it is one of those things that seem to plague this type of place, we stayed in the hotel next door twice as well and stopped going there because of it, the is what we called the 9am rush a big long line of people wait till 9am when they open the doors then there is a big rush for a sun bed, but the best thing is once they have one they are in the most case gone again some times for hours before they come back, one day a mother and daughter turned up just as we were going at gone 4.30pm. Once in the 2 weeks we were there they did send a man round at 10am to get all the towels and it worked for one day then it was back to the same thing. Not sure if I would go back to this apartment as we may not bother with Albufeira again anyway it is getting a bit much for me with all the hills, we had some great nights out with some nice food, but we like Tavira best so it will be back there next time.

Room Tip: sea view rooms have great views but come at a price if it is just a studio you need the ones on the...

Very nice apartments, close to old town and the strip, staff very friendly. Rooms cleaned daily, no complaints, would return anytime. First class all round. Close to all amenities with a large pool with plenty of sun loungers to go round, only down fall was people cueing up at 0900 to run to get the best place to lie in the sun, typical British thing, we did go down a little later and still found somewhere to lie.

Room Tip: Pool view would be better but not necessary, we had other side and very quiet.
