“Fantastic hotel in the Algarve”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

My partner and I stayed at the Falesia twice in 2013 and have already booked up again for this summer. We loved the ambience of the hotel, the friendly staff, fantastic food and great location plus this hotel surely cannot be beaten on price.

The hotel is roughly 25 mins west of Faro airport and we travelled by coach as part of the Thomson package. Luckily the Falesia was the first drop off for the coaches which is good.

We were greeted with a glass of champagne/orange juice and easily checked in. We recommend opening a tab with your credit card at the beginning of your stay, in case you want a drink or lunch without having to carry cash, especially useful when lounging round the pool!
Also worth asking for the mini fridge to be opened, doesn't cost much €2.50/day i think, and is a must have on a hot day for storing water.

The breakfast and dinners are included in the price and served in the spacious restaurant by the lovely chef and his staff and the restaurant staff. Cannot possibly go hungry even for the fussiest eaters!

Wonderful spa available next to the indoor pool, I only truly appreciated just how lovely it was when I went to a UK spa when I got home!!

The outdoor pool was very cool but enjoyable on a hot day.

The hotel runs a free shuttle bus to the beach which is good if you dont fancy the 10/15 min walk, which is quite easy anyway using the next doors hotel beach lift.

The hotel also offers bus trips to Albufeira and Vilamoura for little cost, certainly couldnt get a taxi cheaper to Albufeira!!!

All in all, we cannot wait to return and recommend the hotel to all our friends.

Room Tip: Pool rooms cost more and the view from the front of the hotel is actually very nice so recommend tho...

Our 6th visit to this Hotel and never disappointed. Excellent hotel in every way, friendly efficient staff who cant do enough for you, always immaculately clean everywhere and superb food with excellent choice in all courses every day. Since our last visit 2 years ago a few small improvements (which we thought not possible) including glass of wine on arrival, reduced prices in bar etc. Thomson entertainment team and resort rep also the best this time we have had for several years. Overall a wonderfull holiday to celebrate our Anniversary. We will be back !

What a holiday.
Fantastic and modern hotel with a very friendly staff.
Quiet near to shops, walking distance, and just 5 minutes in taxi to nearest town, albeferia.
I need to refer the taxi company from the airport. Yellow fish taxis. Excellent service with free wifi on the vehicle. Very prompt. Highly recommended

Excellent service, accommodation and food. Well located for a variety of beaches and local shops. Our only suggestion would be to have one staircase open as not everybody likes lifts. Would most certainly stay again..

Stayed at the Falesia again in October,(our second home) although the weather wasn't too good, but it didn't matter as the hotel made up for it. Fantastic service from every single member of staff, nothing is ever too much trouble for any of them, Andre the Manager has a brilliant team, who all work extremely hard, the Thomson team of Dan, Dan, Martin, Hannah and Lucy did a fab job once again and it was quite an emotional goodbye when we all came to leave, they are all so talented and we wish them well in the future, if Thomsons would like to allocate them all to be a Team again next year at the Falesia it would make a lot of people very happy!!! We cant say enough about this hotel, FAB FAB FAB. Roll on next year. We would go every 2 months if we could. Yvonne and Steve Holmes

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, depends if you want to upgrade and pay extra for a pool view.

Stayed here for the first time at the end of October. The hotel transfer time is approximately 30 minutes .It is situated out of the way (but that is just what we wanted )however not to remote to reach nearby towns. The check in was very quick and staff efficient. We were all offered a drink on arrival and our bags taken to our room. We had upgraded to a junior suit this included tea/coffee making facilities and safe we had a room on the 3rd floor (room 341).
The room was a good size with a balcony that over looked the back part of the hotel gardens. It felt very private which was lovely. The room its self was slightly tired but clean with 3 small steps leading to a separate lounge area. There was a large work top that also separated the two areas this is where the kettle was placed and the fridge was underneath. We paid extra for the fridge which we felt was necessary to keep some bits chilled .The beds were two separate 3ft beds pushed together. Why can’t they have a proper double bed?? As we kept almost falling down between them! There was plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. There were 3 sockets in the room very useful for charging phones/ipods. There was also a tv opposite the beds on top of the large dressing table. The bathroom was small but very usable and plenty of towels that could be replaced as you wished. There was a bath with a shower mixer. Also a bidet next to the loo.
The restaurant was well laid out and was very pleasant indeed with room between the tables and décor very nice that gave a relaxed feel to meals. The meals are buffet style and always plenty on offer. There was always some thing that on the menu that could wet the palette. Again staff were very efficient and nothing was to much trouble.
The bar in the hotel was very nice and pleasant. Drink prices are what you would expect to pay. A cocktail E5.50 a local beer E2.50. The bar staff again very good. If you had a drink before dinner but did not finish it you could leave it behind the bar and finish it later.
The out door pool was large and clean although it was chilly at the time of year we went but fine for the hardy ones .The area around the pool had lots of sunbeds. But the normal problem of people reserving them with towels existed This we find just so rude and selfish. (pool towels can be loaned from the reception at no cost and changed every other day) The hotel gardens are well maintained and are really lovely they are connected by ponds that contain fish, very therapeutic to watch.
The indoor pool was small but adequate again kept clean . At Certain times it was more busier and felt a little crowded. There was also a Jacuzzi and steam room. Enjoyed using these facilities especially before breakfast/ tea, a real asset to the hotel!
Just a short walk from the hotel are a few shops and a few bars. There are two supermarkets which we found very useful for buying a fresh rolls ham and a bottle of wine for lunch time. There was also a cash machine in the larger of the supermarkets. There was a bank in the row of shops. The walk to the beach was quite pleasant and took between twenty and thirty minute’s but well worth it. You can go through the grounds of the Sheraton hotel next door or like we did walk past the Sheraton to the next hamlet and follow the signs to the Small fishing village of Olhos de agua which had a lovely beach and some good restaurants. The sea was also warmer than the hotel pool.
Hotel entertainment was a let down. The resident singers were ok but the brought in entertainment was direr!! Where they find them I don’t know but I am sure they could do so much better. Also the hotel does have other European’s staying and the so called comedians telling very old tales were unfunny even to the British so what other European guests thought I hate to think.
