We have just come back from 3 weeks in this hotel on half-board basis. It was wonderful.
Our room was on the 1st floor, which was just like sitting on the beach but more comfortable. The room was large and beds very comfy. We slept with the patio doors open, listening to the waves before going to sleep...bliss.Only the tiny TV was a let down.
The hotel is very spacious and we liked the decor and furnishings. We were there over Christmas and New Year . The Christmas dinner was brilliant and New Years Eve could not have been better. A 7-course dinner, fruit punch, entertainment , fireworks on the beach and for those who wanted to stay up even longer there was supper later. As my husband will be 92 next month, we went to bed after the fireworks, but the party was still going on.
We really appreciated the easy way to the old town. The lift in the hotel went down to beach level, then through the cafeteria and the tunnel and you were in the middle of the old town. Great for people with walking problems.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, apart from those in the cafeteria, who could do with a course at a charm school.
The food was great and a lot of things(hot or cold) to choose from. I cannot understand how people can complain about it, unless, of course, they expected fish and chips and pies and mushy peas??
This hotel is suitable for couples and families for a holiday on the beach, singles and business people. I think especially older couples will enjoy staying here very much. We had a wonderful time.
If you want the feel of sitting on the beach: choose the 1st floor
