This is the next beach West of Sao Rafael that I have already reviewed, and it shares most of its features except intimate views
towards Albufeira. It is cute and cosy ---- almost furry, you might say --- and its name stands for Rabbit in the Portuguese language. There are glorious walks West towards Castello Beach over the golden and ochre rocks and the fantastic outcrops and mini-peninsulas that cover the distance between the two. Many different paths of varying risk and difficulty are available, and despite first appearances, only a real fool would get into difficulty on this terrain that offers such rich visual rewards to those who venture into it. A stick and reliable boots are better than sandals, although someone really agile can get by on the latter. Note that a torrent of rain can develop out of even a clear blue sky, so come prepared for that too. At each end (Castello and Coelho) there is a restaurant on the beach offering food, beverages, and other comforts.
